Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This popped up on a Google search - was aware of the wines, but not where the winery was.

A real hidden gem, close to home!

Great wines, and tasting options. Nice cheese and charcuterie boards. Very friendly service, and great environment - we'll be back!

Only downside, is needed something more food options - toasties not available the day we were there.

We visited here as a spur of the moment desire to find flowing, freshwater near Melbourne and we were surprised at how close this is to the City and what a beautiful place it is!

We were shocked at how quiet it was given that the forecast temperature was about 30 degrees and it was school holidays.

We took our own chairs and a picnic and had a lovely time, just watching and listening to the water flowing as we were right next to the water tunnel.

From what we could see there were no toilets here, which if that’s correct, it’s a shame as it probably means that lots of people are weeing in the water!

This is a beautiful part of Melbourne that we are glad we found and we will return.

Great location by the river. We took the Black Flat walk. Black Flat itself has wide, easy tracks, but the riverside track there from the carpark is narrow, rocky and uneven. Not a problem for anyone of average fitness, but a few steep drops and sections that are slippery after rain could cause problems for the unsteady or very young. Full of bird life and interesting flora. Loved it.

great spot, path to get in is uneven so may not be child/elderly friendly/accessible. On the map it seems like it sits just oustide of the state park, however there is a no dogs sign unfortunately (griffith park allows it - down the rd). Bit of a nudity movement there (several different groups) so may want to be mindful with children.

there's limited flat ground around the bank to have a proper set up, so get in early if you're wanting to do a picnic kind of thing

park on the street as close as you can to Caitlin's Retreat - there's enough room to u turn at the very end but otherwise very tight. no restrictions. please drive carefully - narrow roads and wildlife around.

With nearby hustle and bustle of Doncaster and Doncaster East shopping centres this piece of nature is to be treasured. Outstanding local area of local bush & birds, treat yourself with a picnic or just a coffee and enjoy.

Lovely spot, lovely to walk alongside the water, didn't realise how big it is. Bbq's, cafe and reasonably clean loos. Oh yes, a kiss playground too.

A historical area in the State Park. You can enter via a number of different ways but I find the easiest is via Whipstick Gully Road in central Warrandyte - plenty of parking nearby. The terrain is quite hilly but the trails are well made and easy going. A number of abandoned mine shafts litter the area but most are closed off. There is one tunnel still open that you can go into 15 or so metres. Good mountain bike riding with plenty of steep climbs and few technical sections (not for the faint hearted).

If ever you were on the market for a new dog, this is the place to come on the weekend - myriad breeds to admire or reject - folks stop to have a chat, the mutts have a sniff of each other's tails or not as they choose, and then they all go on their friendly way. It's Nature at her best - some purists may scorn the pet parade, but it has to be one of the loveliest dog friendly walks around.

A gorgeous studio gallery where you can find beautiful pottery, art and jewellery. I love to pop in here if I need a special gift for someone (or myself!)

A nice spot for a picnic on a sunny day. Awesome views of the Yarra river and surrounds. No maps about walking tracks as they have been removed
