- Noel LMorisset, Australia155 contributionsI visited the Morisset Picnic Area when I was last in Morisset and had a brought morning tea in the enclosure. It was very peaceful and the bird life was abundant so it was very enjoyable and relaxing.Written 8 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- AussieRicho1Wollongong, Australia1,751 contributionsThe lake has been awesome the last few days. So flat with a beautiful autumn sun. Almost too perfect...except we also caught fish. Magic timesWritten 24 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- NikSwatGurugram (Gurgaon), India147 contributionsNice beach. Can be considered for day out from Sydney. We went in summer but the day was coulder. On a better day it would have been a much better experienceWritten 17 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DougoOzSydney, Australia12,691 contributionsWhat a stunning Np this area is. We recently busted parts of the Watagans with a family member... thank goodness he had a 4WD although we did see “ regular” sedans / cars driving up there, some of the roads are definitely not suited for anything other than a 4WD IMO.
We visited lookouts at Monkey Face, Gals Credk Lookout, Heaton’s Lookout for fabulous views over the Lake Macquarie area and also Boarding House Creek Picnic area which was stunning.
The great thing about this NP is that there are camping areas and lookouts so many can visit the Park but you can also have an area with few people there .. it never feels crowded.
We saw several people on trail bikes and several more on mountain bikes too .. something for everyone.Written 19 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - svoolstraOrmeau, Australia38 contributionsVery pleased with the small classes. More individual teaching. Would recommend them over bigger classes. Nice centre and plenty of grassed areas.Written 22 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Will J1 contributionI shop at charlestown for all of my needs, and it's generally pretty good, with all the grocery stores, as well as the pharmacy and just about anything else you could think of.
However. Dan Murphy's..
If i could put 0 for it alone, I would. I took my sister out for the first time as she turned 18, and as we were checking out, the cashier gave her the once over and made some snide remarks about her. Really unhappy with the service that "Dan" gave us at the store. Really ruined the experience and made her extremely uncomfortable.
Will not be buying from this particular Dan Murphy's in future.Written 20 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - stevenbenson87Lake Macquarie, Australia26 contributionsExcellent park lots to do family friendly playground has a shop to get food and drinks also has toilet facilities will be backWritten 7 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- meilin lMacquarie Park, Australia719 contributionsWent there with my kids. Good place to walk on low tides - good discovery of tiny crabs. Dogs could play as well.
Very scenic to take photosWritten 9 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Deborah GSurfers Paradise, Australia126 contributionsThis was a lot of fun and the kids could have played here all day.
A fun way to spend a sunny Sunday in between soccer games.Written 24 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Tracey HNewcastle, Australia263 contributionsWe love bushwalking around Heaton - there are some great trails and lots to see as you're walking. There are no facilities so take plenty of water and your own food supplies.Written 22 June 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Nick TMelbourne, Australia128 contributionsWe went to Blacksmiths beach three times during a recent holiday. The beach is clean and wasn’t crowded. The highlight was some of the best bodysurfing waves we have ever found. Consistent, clean and safe waves right near the flags. Good facilities including car parking beside the lifesaving club.Written 25 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Kori TMarks Point, Australia36 contributionsBeautiful western views of Lake Macquarie as the sun sets. Stunning location for a restaurant and many delicious meals to choose from.Written 20 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- AdamandCaroline CMaitland, Australia25 contributionsGreat walking tracks around the grounds and to the summit. Lots of seating for a picnic or BBQ but TAKE THE AEROGARD, the mozzies will attack!!Written 18 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ERIC BDodworth, UK2,148 contributionsThis oasis set in a concrete jungle, takes you by surprise located right by CN tower etc, it’s strikingly different, apparently an old working shunt yard, it as maintained some of it character, there are a number of Train engines and coach’s for you see, and in some case get on and feel the cloth as the saying go’s, you can’t really miss having a look round as it bang in the heart of the attractions around the CN tower.Written 2 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Julie DBelmont, Australia190 contributionsA bird lovers haven - but a great place to take a walk or cycle. It is best at dawn for great bird song. There can be some mosquitoes so carry repellent if you are susceptible. If you are fit you can walk over the dunes to the coast - but it is not a swimming beach - very steep tides and some nasty rips.Written 18 February 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
