The museum offers a pamphlet with a suggested route that takes you through the area that would have been the baths, the entrance, the necropolis and other highlights of a Roman villa. All is outside in a beautiful green area, clearly marked.
Inside, archaeological artifacts from the Bronze Age, the Roman era and the Islamic era, all with informative experts about origin, historical era and uses.
It costs 4€ for entry. There were beach bars, with toilet facilities, every 400 yards or so, so plenty of places to relax with food and drink.

Each lesson was an hour long and he improved both of our games in various areas. The Clubhouse was closed for renovations but the staff could not do enough for you. This included complimentary drinks and snacks from the buggy cart, when we finished we were welcomed with cold towels on a silver platter.
We were made feel very special.

- Paul DBallymena, UK333 contributionsVery difficult to find as it is quite a way outside Vilamoura but if you want a nice secluded place for a peaceful game of bowls contact Amadeus and book an hour play for €10.
It is about 1.5 miles out of Vilamoura in the opening between the main carriageway and some high rise dwellings, we seemed to walk for ever before we found it and local Vilamourans have never heard of it so asking the way is not great, one green seems to be out of use due to Ring Disease which I am sure the owners are treating as it is a very infectious disease and easily spread to other bowling greens just by walking on it.Written 22 May 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. From the moment we arrived and were warmly welcomed in the pro shop, right up until the 16th green, was a real pleasure.
However, we left with a very bitter taste in our mouths after an overzealous course marshal very aggressively told us that we were playing too slowly. Despite pointing out that the group ahead of us was only a three ball and the next group behind us were two holes back, he told us in no uncertain terms that we were 15 minutes too slow. Given that we were affecting absolutely nobody we couldn’t work out what he had to gain, in ruining our experience so late in the round. Sadly, when we book our golf trip to Vilamoura next year, we will not now be returning to the Pinhal course.
