A brilliant day! Communication was good before the tour and our guide and driver, Acácio, was a knowledgeable, and fun guy; One of us was an ‘oyster virgin’ so he bought us a few fresh oysters to try at the beautiful fish and veg market! The two wineries with tastings, were very different but both gave great tours and personal attention. One of the wineries was an extremely old family winery-1880- and the other a relatively newer one, with a museum, exhibit of art from Africa and art exhibition as well as the winery! Fascinating!
Acácio took us to a lunch place ( at our cost, which we knew beforehand) that was for locals: delicious fish, and deserts! Oh - and more wine of course.
A castle, amazing views, with interesting stories about what we were viewing, ending with a visit to the tile shop which was a great end to the day. Learning the process of how the beautiful tiles all around you in Portugal are made, was a highlight for me!
All 4 of us were extremely happy with the day and the tour! And Acácio made it very special!
