Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Joss SEsch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg23 contributionsVery nice place with Lots of Restaurants and terraces. - Catalin PCluj County, Romania150 contributionsone of the most beautiful areas of St.Julien and not only...an oasis of luxury and comfort, offered by the design and decoration around the water...full of beautiful boats, boats that can be rented or even bought, jet ski right at the exit from the bay...and in the bay the water is perfect for scuba diving or swimming...Written 30 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Poker Room ReviewSydney, Australia16 contributionsLocation and Access: Dragonara Casino, nestled in St. Julians, Malta, is an easy 20-minute drive or a 45-minute bus ride from the international airport. Taxis cost around 20 Euros, while the bus offers a cheaper option at around 3 Euros. Dragonara's serene location on the peninsula, away from St. Julians' bustling nightlife, offers a less crowded atmosphere. For a more family-friendly and cleaner stay, consider basing yourself in Valletta, which provides easy bus access to explore the entire island.
Game Options: The poker scene at Dragonara Casino is limited in terms of hours and variety. Games kick off in the evenings, with a few cash tables and small tournaments. The poker offering might seem modest compared to Malta's reputation as a poker hotspot, but it suits the island's population. Cash games mainly feature 1/2 euro and 2/5 euro no-limit Texas Hold'em. While tournaments are small, they are affordable and cater to novices.
Service and Experience: Finding the poker room within the casino can be a bit tricky, but once discovered, it's a hidden gem. Situated in an indoor patio with panoramic windows overlooking a breathtaking Maltese bay, the poker room offers a unique and stunning ambiance. Staff, including dealers and floor managers, are professional and well-dressed. I enjoyed the complimentary food and non-alcoholic drinks which were available.
Rake and Rewards: The cash table rake is reasonable at 4%, but the high cap of 15 Euros can eat into big pots. Tournaments have a more challenging rake structure, particularly for low buy-ins. There are no jackpots or high hand bonuses, but tips for staff are appreciated. Despite the rake, Dragonara's charm compensates for it.
Dragonara Casino, despite its limited poker offerings, showcases what can be achieved with attention to detail. It offers a delightful and picturesque setting, excellent service, and a touch of class. While not a poker mecca, it's an ideal spot for a night of poker or a short visit to Malta.Written 29 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. To me it’s a tacky horrible dump - designed only to get young people drunk on watered down sugar infested rubbish. Still, if you like that sort of thing it’s great. But just walking though made me itch.Written 19 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tiberiu_BaranyiTimisoara, Romania18,403 contributionsSt. Geroge's bay - in the heart of St Julians, it is a very nice spot for those who want to take a swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean sea.
Here you can find one of the few sandy beaches in Malta, with a public beach and the "private" beach of the InterContinental hotel.
You can walk around the bay if you want ... the promenade can be very nice for a stroll.
For those of you into water sport - there is a dive center there too.
Around the bay there are bars and restaurants - where you have a cold beer, some refreshment or dine...
Overall a very nice spot in the heart of St. Julians.Written 18 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - George KHornchurch, UK73 contributionsThe Parish Church of Our Lady in Malta is a peaceful and stunning landmark, perfect for a quiet moment of reflection. The architecture is remarkable, with intricate details and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Inside, the ornate altar and beautiful stained-glass windows are captivating.
Situated in a charming part of town, the church is easily accessible and offers a sense of serenity amidst Malta's bustling streets. Whether you're religious or simply enjoy historic sites, this church is well worth a visit. A true gem that showcases Malta’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.Written 3 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sagar DUnited Kingdom656 contributionsWe stayed in Balluta Bay at the Marriott. It’s very picturesque! The little sandy beach is great to swim from as the bottom is sandy, free stones and kind to your feet! The water is shallow, clear and warm. There are plenty of great places to dine and drink at and the place comes alive at night. Very vibrant! We loved staying at the Marriott and the bay, beach and surrounding area are lovely.Written 8 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
