Cool place where the train crosses a bridge and has to slow down to a crawl. You can walk across the bridge which, bu US standards, isn’t providing any safety measures but it’s a cool experience. There is a little cave with a Buddha statue. Lots of vendors, some restaurants, and many tourists.

The place tries to be nice to the animals so it has canceled commercial shows and rides on the elephants, unlike some other elephant parks. In this case, you can clean the elephant using soap and brush. Clothes and shoes that you can use for bathing are also provided. What is missing a little is proper place where to change the clothes. I use bathroom that is few meters away from the entrance to the river so I needed to rush to make it on time with my group.
Elephants are cute. The whole bathing thing is just a show for tourists and the elephants threw some sand from river's side on themselves right after bathing. Another activity done with the elephants is feeding. There were buckets with watermelon that you can give to the elephant - he will grab the watermelon with his trunk and eat it.

Quick visit. Jumped out of the car. There is a parking lot. There are vendors for food and clothes and things. The trail to the waterfall is on the right. You climb over some small bridges before ascending a steep staircase of about 10-15 steps. At the top is a pretty waterfall. The water is a pale blue that is pretty. People swim at the foot of the waterfall.

We were the only people there visiting. It was a Friday at 345 pm. When we left at 445, we finally saw others. The buildings and architecture were really gorgeous. It felt like truly stepping back in time. There were not very many businesses/storefronts open. The food stalls were starting to pack up since we were there so late in the day. The tickets were only 200 baht and included free shaved ice (not as good as Taiwanese and had very medicinal cherry flavor) and mango with sticky rice (excellent!). I definitely enjoyed looking at everything. Probably wouldn’t spend more than 1-2 hours there

Visits to Daowadueng Cave are quite an informal affair. The turnoff from the main highway (323) going to the cave is well marked although the road is a bit narrow. Upon reaching a small park ranger station, visitors are guided to proceed up the less-developed road for another 400 or 500 meters. The ranger will follow on motorbike. From the end of the road, the cave is up the mountain another 400 or 500 meters, hiking up a mostly gentle trail that passes through very nice bamboo and dipterocarp forest. The cave has old electric lighting installed, which the ranger will turn on and guide people through the cave. The lighting is not great though, so visitors would be advised to bring their torch to be able to see the cave formations better. The entrance is sloping and a few of the passages require visitors to squat to squeeze through but generally the cave is not difficult to manuever. The ranger "guide" is somewhat unsystematic about where he takes visitors and the amount of time spent in the cave, but seems to aim for about 30 minutes in the cave. There are a few bats and some very good speleothems, including some impressive curtain stalactites. Visitors are shown only a small part of the cave. There is no formal charge for entrance or the guide service. We gave the ranger 200 baht, as noted by other reviewers and he seems quite content with that.

    Unbelievable experience!

Had the most memorable trip from the elephant sanctuary, from feeding to swimming together in the river to scrubbing and playing with the elephants! Just wonderful.

Please continue to spread the love and care to them, hope they get more friends and donations.

The santuary is a 1.5 hour private car drive if you leave early in the morning. A stop to a local eatery is a must.

Thank you Tom and team for this lifetime experience!
