Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Recommending this museum if you are into nice artifacts. The place is also picture perfect. I hope that this kind of places be handled and maintained for the next generation to see.

I’ve been in Villa Escudero in 2010, 2012 and 2022. No new activities or attractions were added. Same carabao ride, museum self-tour, swimming pool, cultural show and lunch menu. Pool though was improved and expanded. Faster service and better food choices and quality during cultural show. Better photo quality by official photographer. More items in the souvenir shop too. They added a covered dining hall which is nice for those who cannot go down the waterfalls to eat.
But I noticed staff was less friendly and smile less too.

After watching numerous of the WW-2 movies about Corregidor "Cry Havoc", and "They were Expendable" with John Wayne; I decided to make a visit to the Island of Corregidor in June 2019. My interest was seeing the island where history was made and the neighboring Bataan Peninsula. I had certain places that I wanted to see on the island. The ferry from Manila docked at Corregidor at the north dock. This is the exact dock that Lt JG John Bulkeley on PT-41 transported Gen Douglas MacArthur and his family to Mindanao in 1942. The dock is constructed of concrete with rebar and you can see where it has been repaired numerous times from the war damage of both sides. But, I wanted to walk to the end of it slowly and look back at the island to see what Gen MacArthur must have seen and felt when he stepped onto the PT boat. From the end of the dock you can see Cavite and Mariveles. The trams that give the tour are rapid paced so I was unable to spend much time near the islands north dock. My next point of interest was the Malinta Tunnel east entrance. Good tour but the tunnel is darkened for the video effects and many tripping hazards from old rail tracks down the middle. If you tour try to be near the front so you can hear the tour guide. My interest from the 3rd tunnel lateral on the north side from the east entrance. This was the Headquarters lateral for MacArthur and Gen Wainwright. Several of the Laterals have life-sized people and scenes to exhibit the events of the time. The experience is heighten by the flash and thunder of simulated bomb explosions, the soft hushed murmurs of people talking. Wish I had more time in the tunnel itself, but it is a tour in and out . Lunch for the tour was on the Islands only hotel, it was very very hot day the restaurant and loads of cold water and a buffet type food After I attempted to follow the Bataan Death March route from Mariveles back to Angeles City, it is not well marked and the road is under reconstruction. I want to go back and attempt that route after doing more research and putting some Lat's and Longs into my Garmin. "When I return", I want to spend a night on the islands hotel and see in more detail what is called TOPSIDE. This place was on my bucket list and it was emotional to walk where the US soldiers were from December 1941 till March 1942. The tour guide had excellent knowledge of the island and the period in history that I was interested in.

Segunda House is actually classified as a museum and was well worth visiting. There is a donation box when you first enter the house and you have to sign in the register. Fortunately students were employed here to escort the visitors around the house, explaining everything in great detail and very willing to answer our questions. The house has a courtyard and two floors with many of the original furnishings on display.

The exact spot where the hero's house once stood is unknown, but it's certainly within the compound of the present shrine. There are seven galleries to visit both on the ground and the second floors that help you journey through the life of Apolinario Mabini and some salient socio-political events of his days. The museum guide, a distant relative of the hero, provides you with lots of info. Outside you'll find a replica of the humble abode of the Mabini family, as well as the tomb of Apolinario. It's a very well organized place, with ample space for parking.

We were a group of 11 college friends who toured Taal Heritage Town. Our private tour guide, Rose Ilagan met and toured us at the Minor Basilica of St. Martin of Tours. Then we toured the Our Lady of Caysasay Shrine and the Sta. Lucia Well, which unfortunately were both under restoration. We couldnt go inside the Caysasay Shrine, but we could see how they were stripping the yellow paint in order for the original stone and carvings to show. Then we lit candles by the well and wiped ourselves with the healing waters. Then we toured 3 ancestral homes - Apacible, Agoncillo and Galleria Taal.

Galleria Taal had an extensive collection of over 200 working cameras. That alone is such a treasure. Also interesting were never before seen pictures dated 1700 onwards. Even if you're not a camera buff, the museum is one to see.

Lunch served at Candida Cafe at Galleria Taal was all of Taal's specialties - native chicken tinola, adobo sa dilaw, tapang Taal, sinaing na tulingan, maliputo, ensaladang talong, minatamis na saging, fried suman tsokoleche, kapeng barako. Everything was really good! Yummy also was the vegetable empanada, which had sotanghon inside.

For a whole day guided tour with such a sumptuous lunch, we spent P1,000 per person. Money worth spending. Fun and educational at the same time.

When you go here, you will experience the 19th century lifestyle of the illustrado Filipinos. Great collection and the tour is guided. Easy to book a tour or walk-in. Just present valid I.D. at the gate and inform the guards that you would like to visit the museum. Make sure to go here during museum hours.

Been here many times but I'am still amaze everytime I visit Sinsayan. The house is over 100 years old, book with seven languages of the "The Lord's Prayer", smallest book in the world, ritual box from Sagada, collections of dolls made from recycled materials, Coca Cola collection etc., all in one place.
If your an soul you will really love this place. Sinsay na at balikan ang nakaraan.

A well maintained relic of the past. An introductory video, then free to explore the house. Free, though donations are happily accepted.

One of the heritage houses in Taal is the former house of Marcela Mariño Agoncillo and her family. More popularly known as the Mother of the Philippine flag, Marcela is credited as the main seamstress of the Philippine flag President Aguinaldo used in his declaration of our country’s independence.

I like that this Spanish-era ancestral house is well-maintained. Another pleasant surprise is a mini park beside the property that is also well-maintained where you can have your picture taken with the various Philippine flags and historical markers.
