We had a nice visit to the castle. We chose to walk 2.5 miles one way. You can take a shuttle if you want from the visitors center. The walk is pleasant along the lough. The castle is well maintained and all the rooms are furnished with period pieces. There are written descriptions of all the rooms. The price is right 5 euro per person to enter. After we walked back we had cake and water at the visitors center. Nice. There is plenty of free parking. Nice visit about 3.5 hours.

Glebe is so impressive: atmospheric, beautifully located, authentic, and holding a world-class collection of art. Our guide Kevin was incredibly knowledgeable, and made the tour of the house even more special. Lovely cafe too, with proper baking. Highly recommended.

I have been staying in the Mount Errigal on Business during April and May 2024.
What a wonderful Hotel, all the staff are very friendly and helpful.
However, I must mention one particular member of staff that currently works in the Bar Restaurant, her name is Orla.
Every time she serves me she gives a Masterclass on how customer service should be delivered!!
She is extremely polite, confident, friendly and so professional at all times; she is a credit to the hotel.
I will be staying at the Mont Errigal for the next couple of months and Orla makes my stay very special and enjoyable.
    Well done Orla!!

This was so much more than I expected. It was such a pleasant experience, start to finish. The garden centre at the beginning has a really good stock, then on into the animal park itself via a walkway of many interesting and amazing facts. And on to the animal displays themselves. There is a playground, there are covered picnic areas, and we spent a good morning here at Alcorns. There is also a lovely tea room beside this place, highly recommended.
    We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

A very worthwhile place to visit. The guide we had whose name I think was Alice was absolutely excellent. It's a very interesting way to spend an hour or so.

Serene and beautiful, it dominates the skyline. Then, walking up the hill it hits you again. It is gigantic but graceful and elegant.
The interior is breathtaking as well. Stained glass and wood, but more than that.
It made me want to be a Catholic.

Absolutely love this bar. Always go in to get a carry out of beers which are at least 20% cheaper than the supermarkets. They always have great events all year round such as the Xmas markets, Oktoberfest, paddy’s day and my personal favourite the beer and cheese tasting night. Great to have a few beers as it has a small bar area every weekend where it serves beers until 7:00pm. My favourite are the nitros stout and red ales. Here’s hoping the government extends the breweries licence after 7:00pm. To compliment this there is a food van that serves bbq food outside

Visited the theatre on 11th November for The Lost Brothers concert. It was just a fantastic evening of beautiful music and the venue had strict Covid prevention procedures in place ie social distancing inside the theatre and inspection of Vaccination Certs and wearing of masks. Recommend it to everyone 🙂

Well worth a visit, this small museum is curated by friendly and helpful staff. There are a good range of exhibits for all the family to enjoy, particularly upstairs and the downstairs displays rotate regularly.

Portsalon Golf Club is usually rated outside of the top 20 courses in Ireland, but it remains in my top 5. I have played there 5 times since my first trip to Ireland in 2006, and brought a number of friends afterwards to share in the experience. All of them really liked Portsalon.

The setting for the course on Ballymastoker Bay is particularly beautiful and a round at Portsalon is usually a peaceful, soul enriching experience. The first several holes that follow the coastline are spectacular. As you move inland, the feeling of the course changes but almost all the holes are unique and interesting to play. The double greens are just icing on the cake.

This is a great golf area with three good to great courses nearby at Rosapenna and several others within a couple hours drive. Check out The Olde Glen Bar and Restaurant nearby for the best food in Ireland.

Don't leave Portsalon off your itinerary and don't forget the northwest of Ireland when you think about coming to the Emerald Isle to play.

We enjoy looking at old churchyards and this one was really immaculate despite the age of some of the graves, very interesting notice board marking out the plots and giving local information of the people buried there.
