The ticket price included a parking space well away from the main car park via a private entrance, entry to the Gardens and the Birds of Prey Centre - such very good value for money - we will be back!

Park at the dam itself and there are toilets and often a mobile coffe wagon, Just below the dam is the RSPB reserve which is an amazin place, quiet and serene even if you aren't interested in birds.
There is a RSPB nature reserve and some very welcoming country inns for some refreshment.

Our first visit was on a bank holiday and although the car park was extremely busy we managed a very leisurely walk along a very quiet beach and ended our visit with a stroll up the hill to the castle.
Beach is lovely and peaceful with benches at regular intervals, great views of the countryside, a football pitch by the 1st car park, toilets, cafe and even a castle a short walk away!
