WB Champagne Reims
#3 of 291 Food & Drink in Marne
With Rachel, the RAW France experience is more than just how champagne is made in the many small champagne wineries of Champagne, it's a sneak peak into the fabric of one small champagne village.
We had a fascinating tour of their vineyard and the production processes and a delicious lunch in the village with lots of local dishes and of course lots of fantastic WB Champagne.
Paul-Etienne Saint Germain Epernay
#6 of 291 Food & Drink in Marne
Having visited many wineries around the world and a handful in epernay, this was a standout as one of the best ive ever visited.
A first generation business with family owned vineyards they produce excellent Champagne, supplying a 3 Michelin star restaurant and an overseas French Embassy for good reason.

Champagne Domi Epernay

highly recommend this winery and the personal touches with the owner.
We wanted to take a tour of a winery in this Champagne region, but didn't want a huge mass group feel or pricey fees.
Celliers Ruinart Reims
#9 of 291 Food & Drink in Marne
I have been to a lot of wineries, vineyards, and distilleries and this by far was the best experience.
We arrived at 10:05 and although the guard at the gate had our names, he told us we could not come into the winery until 10:15.

After the tour we had lunch near by and were picked up at 2pm to start our half day tour of other smaller wineries with Cris Events (also highly recommend).
Wonderful presentation, to tour the vast chalk caverns and tunnel system under the vineyards and streets was a delight.

Champagne Roger Manceaux Rilly-la-Montagne
#12 of 291 Food & Drink in Marne
The town of Rilly-la-Montagne is like many countryside hamlets but provides spectacular views of the surrounding vineyards.
You can walk among the vineyards, then get a free tour and/or tasting at about a dozen small houses, who make champagne from the grapes you were just walking through.
Moet et Chandon Champagne Cellars Epernay
#13 of 291 Food & Drink in Marne
The grounds and the area is amazing, and while I have been to many wineries, it was so great to learn about the whole process to make Champagne!
We did a tour of the Moet vineyards and cellars in Australia a number of years back so it was nice to do the Moet tour in France.

Champagne G. Tribaut Hautvillers
#14 of 291 Food & Drink in Marne
The setting overlooking the valley and the vineyards is just amazing, combined with a great refreshing coupe de champagne from Tribaut.
I haven't even been to the vineyard but I get their pink reserve brought over because it is better than any other I have tried, I am reluctant to share it with anyone!!
Champagne Taittinger Reims

Taittinger offers guided tours of the winery and tasting of their very popular champagne.

Champagne Dom Caudron Passy-Grigny
#19 of 291 Food & Drink in Marne
He answered all of our questions whilst walking around the champagne winery and then we went on to taste the champagne and chocolates in a relaxed manner before deciding which champagnes we would buy to take home.
... to answer our multitude of questions about how the Cooperative system works -- Dom Caudron has 84 members with vineyards, and the pressing of grapes and blending of champagne is done at this central location.

Billecart-Salmon Mareuil-sur-Ay
#20 of 291 Food & Drink in Marne
We were able to visit a vineyard and observe pruning of the vines, tour of the lovely grounds, and see the caves and champagne making process of a small, exclusive firm dedicated to excellence.
The buildings nearby where production takes place and the vineyards are incredible, yet it is the passion of the team in this family owned and still run Company which inspires.
Champagnes Pommery Reims
#22 of 291 Food & Drink in Marne
We visit a lot of champagne estates and wineries, and the Pommery tour is a favorite.
This winery cellar has 18km of caves built by the romans that are beautifully maintained!

Champagne Domi Moreau Mancy
#31 of 291 Food & Drink in Marne
We were able to discover both the vineyards and the champagne house, and Nathalie provided fascinating insight into the whole production process - from growing and harvesting the grapes, to producing the champagne.
Nathalie picked us up from Epernay and took us to her vineyard to talk about the work required to grow the grapes, and then to her house and cellar to show us how to make Champagne from the grapes.
