Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- 218ariaPrahran, Australia15 contributionsThis little park has recently been expanded and improved, and is a nice place for us local residents. Some people say that the train line used to go through here and on to St Kilda, but I think that this was just a railway siding, and the St Kilda line used to run along where the 96 tram now goes (and I can't see how they could possibly have been linked)Written 6 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MarkG78_12Melbourne, Australia85 contributionsThis is a great little set-up. There's a full bouncy castle, giant bouncy slides, a whole kids fun house maze, soccer games, a play-house... kids from 2-5 or so will love it. The whole place is in a church hall and is fully gated, so you can have a coffee while your kids run around.Written 20 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - platypus150Melbourne, Australia32,398 contributionsThe Presentation Convent goes back over 130 years. - OldjackGreater Melbourne, Australia29,084 contributionsThe laneway knowns as Artists Lane but originally hoped to be called Aerosol Alley is one street back from Chapel Street and nothing special other than a diverse range of colorful street art and some basic graffiti. It is worthy of a visit.Written 7 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Penelope B1 contributionThis lovely little park is a welcome green space amid high density homes. Great for catching up with neighbours, a play area for children or walking the family dog. Easy to grab a coffee from the nearby coffee shop and retreat to this oasis.Written 9 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Erika N1 contributionWe used the upstairs space (Gold Room) for my partners 30th birthday and the whole experience was excellent! Grant was really helpful as we'd organised a secret flash mob surprise for the birthday girl. Grant ensured that all of the staff new what was going on and everything went very smoothly. The food was excellent, plenty of options for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans....everyone was happy and the cocktails were amazing too! We were all really impressed by the staff, they were all super friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Back Bar, it's awesome!!!Written 22 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - alicemeNorth Fitzroy, Melbourne13 contributionsFor a first time mama, the road ahead can be a little bit daunting. Sarah is an incredibly warm-hearted, dedicated and informed doula who at every step helped me and my husband feel ready and empowered during pregnancy, during labour and after my son was born. I feel especially lucky to have had Sarah's support on the phone at home before going into hospital and at the hospital when there were complications and hospital procedures to navigate. Throughout the labour, Sarah had instant rapport with the midwives and hospital staff, was caring, unflappable and was able to maintain a sense of humour - also important! As a qualified massage therapist, her treatments were also great before and during the birth. Thanks Sarah for all the wisdom and moments you've shared with me on this mama journey so far. You're just wonderful!Written 8 March 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Alexandra DOakleigh, Australia88 contributionsWe went for sip and sushi on a Sunday night , that was by far the nicest part of our visit ! The food was excellent the service was also excellent! Unfortunately the happy hour drinks were a bit misleading as we still paid $56 for three cocktails which I think is a bit much ! Also on the bar side there was more of a club which was fine but the toilets are shared which made using them survival of the fittest! A lot of very drunk teenagers ! But I would definitely go back for the meal !Written 5 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- KMaccaChristchurch, New Zealand227 contributionsGreat setting out on Church Street, being able to watch everything go by. Great idea with overhead heaters to attract people to the outdoor seating on a coolish Melbourne day. Very good variety on the menu. Really enjoyed our time hereWritten 5 October 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- timbo144Newcastle, Australia117 contributionsRange of very interesting dishes. Five of us went and no complaints from anyone. Had the chicken wings and also the dumplings. Both great. The goulash looked great. Had one tasting platter of three vodkas. All were good to varying degrees but I’m still not a vodka convert. Great friendly service and ambiance fantastic. Would recommend.Written 13 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Cloud_OceanMelbourne, Australia74 contributionsThe decor reminded me of a grungy far you would find in Fitzroy and Collingwood.Very relaxed atmosphere, velvet couches, very dark, DJ and good drinks. We ordered two rounds of drinks and the cocktails were well mixed. Prices were very reasonable.Good visit!Written 22 January 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BrianTaylor9Singapore, Singapore939 contributionsCame on a Friday night and they were playing retro music from the 80s. The crowd here is defiantly older than at other bars in the area - not surprising with the choice of music. There is a dance floor at the back and people were dancing.Written 22 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Yaeko T1 contributionI had massage from Mamie. It was amazing! My back and shoulder was stiff like a stone but Mamie was assessing my whole body then find out the causes. She used hot stone for massage on my back, my tension of muscle were relaxed immediately and it made me fall asleep. After the treatment I could feel very light and release from a pain!

However, I was very disappointed by the food. We had a burnt, greasy pizza with sausage.Written 28 December 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
