Family run nougat Fabrique Arnaud Soubeyran made a great decision to show the history of their fabrique and nougat making process for all of us. Interactive and interesting museum. You can understand the history and the making process before and now of these delicious nougat candies. A great place to spend couple of sweet hours.

For an avid aviation photographer like me, this is a real gem of a place with its 70-odd aircraft telling the modern history of French military aviation. Many of the exhibits have been lovingly restored and those that await refurbishment are cared for outside while they await their turn. Although aircraft museums are always challenging for photography, this one is no more so than most and in fact the spacing is quite favourable, although quite where they’ll squeeze in the Transall that arrived all the way from Tahiti today on its retirement remains to be seen. For me, a big favourite was the Caravelle and I was very pleased to get good shots of it once the sun came out.

Very well done team Musee! Highly recommended to anyone in the area.

Did you know that #montelimar is known as the city of #nougat ? We visit one of the oldest artisanal factory @chaudrondor were passionate employees are proud to work in this legendary place. You can schedule a tour guide visit and learn about the complete production process. They still have packing machines back from the year 1950.

Great demonstration on how nougat is made, it's history and the team was happy to answer any questions. Excellent nougat too. We'd never really appreciated just how good it could be! Well worth a visit.

At 5 euros full price admission, I didn't expect a lot but the staff are friendly, the views are nice and the exhibits are interesting. There are some explanations in English. Quite a lot of things to keep French speaking children amused. Worth an hour of your time. It's a bit of a hike from the town centre. Numbers currently limited to 49 people but we saw only a handful of other people.

We visited this museum in August 2020, and it was a big disappointment. Only a dozen small works of art, all from the same series. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes, and although the entrance fee was very low, this is certainly not recommended.

We took the guided tour (in French) of Montelimar which proved to be very informative and a good introduction to the town. Our guide was charming. 90 minutes followed by a tasting of local products.

La Danse des Iris is a family run pepiniere near Montelimar which features more than 900 varieties of Iris in flower between late April and late May each year. The original plants are sourced from all around the world and present a unique view in France of Iris cultivars. (at 900, it represents around 1/3rd of the 3000 available cultivars in the world). Entry is free but you will no doubt be seduced by what you see and want to buy some if you can.

This building built by the Marquis of Chabrillan has had an interesting history over the past 260+ years. The current exhibits change-- and are certainly worth of a visit for those interested in the "local culture"!
