What travellers are saying
- m1st3ryGu3stHouten, The Netherlands148 contributionsVery impressive to see this Mosque. We advice you to take a guided tour so you have someone who can explain everything you see. If you are planning to visit make sure you arrive early and take apron 1 hour to see the whole place.
After the tour we went to the visitor centre where we could ask all questions we had about the Mosque, the Islam and the Koran. It was well worth the visit!Written 8 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - sunny1Ipswich, UK497 contributionsThis is a must visit when in Muscat. There is a huge amount of carved teak and the double staircase in the entrance is very beautiful. Our guide told us how the size and shape of the stage can be altered and even the walls of the auditorium can go in and out. It truly is a spectacular buildingWritten 20 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Y. A.16 contributionsbeautiful place. Rent a car before you go there - amazing colors for the water. Don't go during Eid season since it was very crowded, we couldn't swim in the water.
make sure to go early morning, we went around noon, and it was very hot.
Ladies should wear conservative clothes (not above the knee, and no spaghetti straps)
make sure to make a stop later to "Fins" beach, it's very close to the sinkhole.Written 16 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Y. - LolwoodMuscat, Oman90 contributionsLovely spot to get away from it all and see Oman as it used to be. Gets very busy during the winter weekends. Now undergoing development with new hotel construction. Means access is now limted, possibly only for local residents.Written 6 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

You can either start from Mutrah souq area (Graveyard side) or Al Riyam park side.
Both side are amazing
The hike took around 1.5-2 hrs. Depend on how fast you walk.
I really love this place.
Suggest to try and it is not far from city area.Written 4 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - sunnyarbormomMuscat, Oman91 contributionsA much smaller site than others and it made for a nice visit one morning. Park at the Rashan shopping center and walk up the narrow lane to the castle. Admission was free and there was a person working there who was available to answer any questions we might have hadWritten 3 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
