Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Egle d2 contributionsThe gardens are a stunning and supremely romantic creation of a consummate plantsman, Seamus. He's been generous with his time providing the back story of the gardens and nursery, as well general gardening knowledge. We enjoyed the vista on to Tory Island from the meadow and a beautiful exotic garden brimming with colourful tender plants.Written 20 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul OLurgan, UK36 contributionsWell worth a visit to this 6th century church& high cross. - CMurphy_OzMaitland, Australia85 contributionsThis place exhudes history but is a tad difficult to find. Google maps lead me astray at first but I got there in the end - walking from the town.
Read up on the history of it before going to get the most out of the visit... There is also an information board with good detail on itWritten 5 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is so many different plants to see here, a lot of tropicals and at d cent mature sizes. If in or near Donegal it has to be a must for any plant lover or people with interest.Written 10 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 2020visionDundonald, Belfast.4,938 contributionsWe called in to make a few enquiries about beaches in the locality. The man on the information desk was very helpful and had lots of local knowledge about other places which we wanted to visit in the area. He gave us a map with directions to all the places of interest nearby.Written 9 October 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - C_and_H_11Dublin, Ireland786 contributionsDrumatinny Beach is yet another pristine beach with golden sands & very high sand dunes. From the beachthere are excellent views of Tory, Inisbeg & Inisboffin Islands to the west & Horn Head to the east. Superb for very long walks. The river Ray runs into the Atlantic here.Written 4 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Seems to be the social center of the village.Written 7 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- realbanditontourIreland12 contributionsExcellent for those with no experience. Kitty brought an upbeat and welcoming attitude to a grey morning on the water. She herded us masterfully on the water, letting the stronger one's off to lead and ensuring the less sure of themselves and younger ones were okay. Everyone enjoyed the fun of this group endeavour...away from traffic noise, immersed in nature. What a tonic.
Our trip was an hour and that was ideal for us...got a good taste for it, in a gentle bay (though with tide and winds !), so not needing to brave the Atlantic!
Wetsuits not provided - wear one if you have it or clothes you don't mind getting wet. We changed on pier.
Keep a close eye out for Kitt's sign...easy to miss.Written 25 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our family does not typically hike mountains so we sought out a guide to help us. Luckily, we found Walking Donegal tours. Our guide, Seamus, was flexible in scheduling our hike, and set a comfortable pace with appropriate breaks to get us all up and back down again safely and in good humor. Seamus is certainly someone you’d like to hike a mountain and have a pint with afterward. We’re looking forward to hiking Errigal with him next time. Highly recommend!Written 5 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
