The gardens are also superb and well worth a visit - in spring you can see gorgeous rhododendrons, magnolias, camellias and fantastic views of the park & house.
Near to the car park is a wood with interesting dog walks, cycle tracks & an adventure cycle zone which was very popular with children. the parkland is wonderful with superb views & superbly maintained.

Then you find it park and simply wonder at the variety of plants set out in a lovely setting hidden away.
All in all a really good experience except for getting bombed by bird droppings in the car park right on top of my head.

We ventured down a very tight lane to the National Trust car park at Coombevand walked back towards Polkerris; we took a detoure here which added about 1/2 mile onto the overall walk but it was worth it to stop in...
Handy car park Pathway just off the carpark.

Once we'd managed to find the car park, we had a brilliant walk exploring the peaks of Roughtor.
Here you will find a decent sized National trust car park and entrance to Rough Tor itself.
