The views were stunning, its a lovely area, really quiet and rural with plentiful wildlife and lots of Roman History, which my children love.
We had a great day visiting the fort & the wall ,the fort was quite good with some fantastic views over looking the grounds of the fort also great views of Hadrians Wall.

... if you are here on a pleasant day it also traverses beautiful countryside and they selected several sites based on military considerations for the excellent views that make for terrific views for scenery as well.
Superbly interesting piece of history, one can just imagine ancient Romans walking around this site and to able to touch stones that have been handled by those same Romans is extraordinary.
