Isle of Man Steam Railway Douglas
#1 of 32 Sights & Landmarks in Isle of Man
I love the steam train it is always a great thrill to steam through the Manx countryside and see wonderful views etc The train also has food evenings which are great fun with excellent food.
Recommend "Go Explore" card - can buy at airport and lots of other places, gives unlimited bus and train transport [including this] and if you get the Heritage option there is free entry to almost all sites.
Castle Rushen Castletown
#2 of 32 Sights & Landmarks in Isle of Man
The castle is well preserved and complete allowing you a good walk around the castle and up to the walls and to the top of the towers (where you get great views of the town and beyond).
Great views from the top of the castle, and especially liked the maps at the top showing all the current landmarks and their history.
Laxey Wheel Laxey
#3 of 32 Sights & Landmarks in Isle of Man
We were very fortunate the day we visited as the weather was beautiful especially as it was 1st November!! Wonderful views once you reached the top which we were glad we made the effort to do.
Take an hours to enjoy the visit to this amazing Manx landmark, then walk down to the old Laxey Harbour, walk on the beach (at low tide, if possible) and enjoy one of the best Bay in the Isle of Man

I would definitely recommend a visit to Peel castle, fantastic insight into the history with the audio guide and fantastic views of Peel and the ocean.

the site of the abbey has a visitor centre which tells the history of rushen abbey there are interactives for all ages so it makes an ideal family outing well worth a visit
What is there is indeed a (very) ruined abbey, but unlike most such sites in the UK, this one has been given an extraordinarily comprehensive and entertaining interpretation, with a very substantial and creative e...
