Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- suzy111112222Dunstable, UK84 contributionsCame in a rainy day, mostly inside things to see. So much to read and discover. The letters and informative writing by each person brings it alive and was the highlight for me.Written 2 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Danny B2 contributionsMy daughter and I found this place by chance just by the harbour and have to say what a great find .
Lots to see and the gentleman who showed us around had incredible knowledge and clearly very passionate about the subject.
It’s free to enter (you can give a donation if you wish) and really worth a visit.Written 30 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As such it has become a listed building. It is no longer a church but used as a museum telling the story of the Gurkha regiments throughout the ages - a Gurkha regiment is based at the neighbouring Shorncliffe Camp. I was impressed with the information on display telling the history of the Gurkhas and spent a good hour in the place reading everything. If you just skim read and look at the artifacts it'll take less time. But worth a visit if you have an interest in Army history.Written 1 October 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - john-boyAUBrisbane, Australia4 contributionsI dropped in there to buy a framed print (see photos) I saw in the window the night before. Wayne introduced himself and we had a chat. - Kaip.art1 contributionAbsolutely fantastic service, if you have a question Avril can definitely answer it with both passion and expertise in her field. The gallery itself is beautifully curated showcasing some astonishingly great photographs, artwork and some brilliant jewelry. Both Avril and Liudmila have a flourishing flare for their respective creative areas and I can't compliment them enough on their brilliant pieces that are for sale - truly beautiful.
My original enquiry was about giclee printing for my own artwork and Avril won me over with her knowledge in the area, her wholesome and helpful attitude and the extremely welcoming atmosphere she created in the gallery.
10/10 for service, quality and friendliness; I will definitely be returning and telling everyone I know to make their way down the old high street to visit the gallery - the prints I ordered turned out amazing and have been extremely well received from those who they have gone out to.
YOU WILL REGRET GOING ANYWHERE ELSE. SHOP AFTER ART!Written 27 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
