The girls gave us important information about sightseeing and the time you need to visit places and everything was clear. Perfectly organized.

An amazing modern museum with convenient technologies to borrow and return books. Very well set up with many reading areas - borh private and open. The building is open and inviting

Besides the other library facilities. But only in Norwegian. On the first floor there is newspaper and magazine reading space and a small bookstore. On the second floor there is a Cafe you really need to visit, difficult to describe. The roof and wall paintings are really fantastic.

The Bjorvika Apartments are managed by a group controlling 200 apartments around Oslo. What we liked about them is the central location, quiet setting, great for doing washing and quite spacious except for the tiny second bedroom. And the staff were actually very friendly and always helpful.

But it could be a much better place for visitors with just a few thoughtful additions:

    1. Have a small folder explaining how to work the complex TV and where to find a local supermarket or good coffee shop. For our first visit to Oslo there was nothing to help us settle in.

    2. Maybe just have a few coffee or tea bags and a few of those small satchels of milk available for guests when they first arrive. This would cost our hosts nothing, but make a big difference to guests.

    3. Maybe provide a map of the local area.

    4. Install a small soap holder in the shower. It would be so easy to do and save guests from having to put soap and shampoo etc on the floor of the tiny shower as nowhere else to put them.

These are small issues but would make the experience at these apartments a four star rather than a three star experience.

Oslo is not cheap. These a new and spacious apartments are in a good area. With a little thought they could be the best accommodation available; but not yet.

This is a part of the library located on the second floor specialized in cartoons. There is a table where you can sit down and make your own cartoons,I had to make a cartoon after getting inspired reading marvel universe. There are comfortable sofas and seats to sit on and read cartoons, work, relax. There is a lot of diffrent cartoons I found for example marvel,spider-man,batman,superman,marvel universe(dictionary of marvel superheroes and bad guys),donald duck, manga(found one with some adult manga inside) and much more. Some of the diffrent areas have signs showing what kind of cartoons are there,if you want help to find a specific cartoon ask the friendly staff.I liked the small rooms with diffrent cartoons in each.Free wifi is available and there are wall sockets to connect laptops to.Serieteket is a very good place to bee at if you like cartoons or if you havent seen cartoons before get to know them here. They also have free cartoon classes if you want to learn.

Best:I found marvel universe here after looking for it about 25 years :)
Worst:There should bee more signs making it easier to find diffrent cartoons.

It’s a superb and most recent addition to the Public Libraries in the city. At a time when increasingly life is lived online it’s gratifying to see such a facility funded and opening.

Architecturally it is special and an award winning design. Symbolising a welcome for all, the topmost floor impressively radiates outwards.

Great services and facilities, such as workshops and theatre, are provided, as well as the standard ones of books, volumes and loans. A fine Café is here.

Interesting to learn that a bequest from the wealthy industrialist Carl Deichman in 1785 lead to the founding of Oslo’s Public Libraries. Marvellous that almost 250 years on it continues to thrive.

Another very Oslo complex. Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to enjoy the concert, However, Outside sculptures, though may not be special by themselves, make the building look more attractive.
