Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Donna MStratford-upon-Avon, UK2 contributionsLager was good and we sat close to the bar at a table, it was early around 1pm - we saw The Pub on the telly and decided to pay a visit whilst walking through Valetta.
We'd planned a drink in a pub to raise a glass to remember my son as we were away from home.
There was a chap at the bar who said he lived ' next door" and out of politeness we said hello.... he asked where we were from, and the conversation became difficult. He continued telling us that although he was Maltese he worked in England and he had travelled the UK more than we had - he became political, difficult and argumentative to the point where I ignored him and sat looking at my phone - I eventually got up and walked to sit outside to finish my drink as he kept commenting about 'you English...' he just wanted a heated debate and I didn't. He ruined the whole reason we were there.
I left my husband inside with him but he swiftly followed me out too - we ended up leaving quicker than we had planned, I didn't want the interrogation because we are british or the 'you don't know what you're talking about' conversation.
I gave The Pub a score of 4 because it had the potential of being a pleasant experience, however, if the Maltese guy in his 60's (I'd say) is really the bloke from next door it might be worth steering him away from your customers.Written 3 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. He was the 2016 European Elvis tribute champion.
We go almost every Friday evening. Red does he's Elvis show for the first half, then he has break and comes in to sing other songs not necessarily Elvis, which I see from some reviews, they don't like...come on not everyone wants Red singing Elvis all evening...he is an awesome all-round singer.
He does Elvis Monday and Friday. Red does songs from other other artists on a wednesday.. usually Tuesday and Thursday is for Dennis the guitarist.
Saturday is usually for disco and Sunday is usually karaoke.
Every evening they serve free appetizers and the drinks are very reasonably priced. It is generally always full for the Elvis shows especially. The staff and owners are very friendly and you get an awesome evening.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Brian LChicago, IL385 contributionsCame here twice during my stay in Malta. The first time was in the evening and I got the spicy pizza 'Al Diavlo' which is somewhat of a mistake I often do, always going for the spicy one. Though it was good, I eyeballed other tables and wish I had gotten something a bit more atypical. On my second visit for lunch, I got 'Bufola' and it was ridiculously good. I wish I had been more adventurous from the first visit!
The young staff is energetic and hard working, helpful with making suggestions and explaining the menu. The senior staff... well, maybe they have a higher responsibility behind the scenes, but they loved showing off and kissing up to some of the punters at one of the other tables. You know who; the loud and lavish spenders who have some sort of insiders privileges with a classic 'rich person laugh'Written 15 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Wow! Valletta really is a truly stunning city.
The Christmas markets were still on and looked great, however we wanted to spend our day exploring everything the city had to offer.
You can spend hours ambling around the beautiful little streets, in awe of the amazing buildings. There are several Churches to pop in also.
Plenty restaurants to choose from, some expensive but that is as to be expected from being in a capital city.
We explored on foot and found this the best way as we could get in all the ‘nooks and crannies’ and explore as much as we could.Written 5 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. we weren’t staying long, but we got carried away talking to the friendly staff and customers some of whom have a wealth of knowledge about what to do in the area.
It didn’t help that they serve a fantastic array of ales and wine, so many a night we would call in for a pint or two because the Bombardier was fantastic, well kept, and very moorish, I would never purchase a drinks package if I come back to the area again, Alex’s provided us with everything we normally miss when abroad.
Thank you for your hospitality and your customers knowledge.
We will be back.Written 28 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jan L11 contributionsAmazing 👌👌👌👌👌 place!
Didn’t know what to expect at first because we was just walking by for some drinks. However, we got very positive surprised. The bartender made very tasty cocktails and a the staff was supernice. Fast on the floor and they also took time to talk to us since it was our first time. The night we visited they were playing “rock” music. We asked if we could make some request songs,( club music/ electronic) and was told No at first. But after a while the manager came and asked what we wanted to listen to… that really made our night,
It ended up us staying for 2.5 hours…and we was just going in for 1-2drinks in the beginning.
This is a small and very cozy place and I can really recommend it. Ask for the bartender Sito, he will make the best cocktails 🍸 for you.Written 2 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I would say do some research before you go. We were going to go to popeye village but it was closed due to the storm some weeks earlier . We couldn’t get to comino or have a harbour trip from Sliema because the seas were too rough . So go and find the trip organisers to see when it’s possible.
We travelled on a couple of local buses and took one trip on the hop on hop off bus. We were there five days - not enough to see everything but I would love to go back . Incognito nightclub we didn’t get to either .Written 20 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Manjot R20 contributionsLovey views and slightly expensive drinks are to be expected in this place. We visited on a Friday night and had a wonderful night- it was a delightful change from the main area of noise, commercial loud pop and teenagers!
The crowd is older people, drinks are not watered down, music is good, no one hassles you and you have room to sit down at tables and talk.
We paid an entrance fee of €15, it did get us a free glass of Prosecco which was appreciated!
The staff were ok, no one was overly friendly or rude. Security staff were attentive and always watching the outdoor smoking area.Written 22 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
