... walking the city streets, admiring the Hallgrimskirkja from every angle and in every light, pausing by old houses, commenting how the city grew, but after all that, it was paradise to stroll through the park.
This is a beautiful place for enjoying the nature, relaxing and meditating.

After circling the island, observing the Peace Tower, the " Anchor" memorial and all the beautiful nature, we enjoyed a delightful apple cake and hot tea in the cafe.

This is a bit of nature in the heart of the city and is home to a number of birds, including swans, geese, gulls, redwings etc.
The walk to the park gives you a good perspective on the city, and the perk and large pond is peaceful.

The gardens are amazing and the park is really pretty.

If you take the city bus here, get off at the Laugardalur stop and take the gravel path across the street at the stop light straight back until you hit the Botanic Gardens and Family Park and Zoo.
