Our Canterbury travel guide arranged for us to have a short shopping stop here before our flight home from Rovenimi airport. Because we had seen the REAL Santa in his home, we were advised to give the large red building on the right a very wide berth as they advertised a chance to meet a certain person!!! . But that wasn't a problem as there was lots of tourist shops in the Arctic village, they all sold pretty much the same things. But because the place we had stayed had been so remote we hadn't managed to buy any Christmas mementos . At the village there was a good choice of Xmas decor, and obviously lots of soft toys. But we also had the chance to post Xmas cards back to the UK with the Arctic circle postmark direct from the North Pole post office. I had taken cards with us ready just for this..
We only had an hour there, I would have liked a little longer, but we cut it fine for our flight home. The airport is only minutes away. It was lovely to finish off the perfect holiday here, and nothing was ridiculously priced, even for a captive audience

This shopping center is located next to Lordi's Square and the main pedestrian street that is beautifully lit during Christmas time.

You can find here branded retailers, souvenirs, fast food & a movie theater.

The gallery, hosted by the Artists' Association of Lapland , offers temporary exhibitions of contemporary art.
The gallery has also Art Lending Service. It is possible to rent art
for your home or work office.
The staff, working in the gallery, was extreamly friendly and helpful.

We loved learning how to make traditional Sami bracelets with Julia. She helped us through every step and was very generous with her story and family history. We had great conversations about the importance of sharing our cultures with others, and of the great resilience of Sami people across the Arctic.
This is highly recommended and so much more valuable than just buying the souvenir!
The gift store also has the most beautiful puukko knives we saw anywhere in Finland and carved reindeer antler. Beautifully individual and made in the workshop through the window.

This is known as Marttinin Wanha Tehdas in Finish. It was built in 1928 and badly burned in the 1940s. It was refurbished in 1998 and the knife factory operates from this historical building. It has high quality knives which are sold in shops. I just saw it from outside and did not actually go in the building

Since 1985, Santa Claus has received 15 million letters from 198 countries, which makes Santa Claus Main Post Office a must on any visit to Santa Claus Village. The merry postal elves are happy to serve customers all year round in their headquarters, which is a real post office operated by Posti, Finland’s national postal service. Every letter sent from here is addressed from Santa and gets a special Arctic Circle postmark not available anywhere else. The highlight is that if you send a postcard on 18th January, it will be received only on 18th December as a special gift for Christmas. We had a small deal of shopping there – just a handful of cards and souvenirs. And we send many cards to our friends around the world. The cards are available from 2EUR.

The Tourism Information Desk is located right above the Post Office. We went there and sealed our passports for crossing the Arctic Circle. It is not at all mandatory, but that would be a seal that would mark our journey officially forever.

You will find a small selection of fashion shops, mostly of well known brands. If you wish to eat, fast food is easily available in the upper floor. In the ground floor I would pamper myself at Café Antell, which is a very nice place. Other shops include a bar, hairdresser's and pharmacy. Overall this mall is a bit old and to be honest it could need renovation.

Wisited several times with family. Different kind of shops: clothes, jevellery, books, food, also coffee and snacks. Actually Revontuli consists of two shopping centers: Revontuli and Rinteenkulma.

Nice place to spend couple hours!

Our vacation in Finland Lapland from 18 to 23 Dec17 was indeed wonderful. We were lucky to have chosen Scandi Classics to arrange all the tours, cruise and safari for us. All activities and arrangement were on schedule as planned. We were also happy that all details listed in their website materialise and they didn't miss anything. All their arrangements, appointments and pick-ups were punctual and they really make sure we get whatever were specified and promised in their website. We also extended our stay in Helsinki with Scandic Classics from 23 to 26 Dec. We indeed had a very enjoyable and memorable vacation in Finland Lapland. We were happy that Scandi Classics made it possible for us, 5. Good job, Scandic Classics !

What a lovely boutique! Warm atmosphere, beautiful decor, clean and good quality pre-loved clothing in simple racks. The owners are two young, local and pretty ladies happy to talk you through the ideology of pre-loved fashion. We found Finnish designer clothes in second hand prices! Also for sale new design items. On top you can take a break in a cozy cafe corner and enjoy Rovaniemi brewed coffee and cakes. A must visit when in Rovaniemi!

I went to SusiVilla, and to meet Annika who is the brains behind it. The idea of a handicraft workshop and knitting is a very new and fresh idea in Rovaniemi. She organizes different kind of workshops where you can actually make your beanies and neck warmers from a very high-quality materials. You can tell by her experience with customers and how she handles the guiding etc, that she is a pro in her business.

This is a ''different'' tourist attraction in Rovaniemi, and its worth checking out!
