What travellers are saying
- Mikael FHelsinki, Finland23,573 contributionsThis market hall is located in the heart of Stockholm. It was built in 1888.
The last time we visited in 2019, the place was in a complete renovation and there was a temporary hall on the square next to it.
Now we could see the results and they were absolutely stunning. The original star-shaped floor plan and all beautiful details have been kept. You could still feel the old atmosphere.
It is perfectly justified that Östermalm's Market Hall has been named the world's 7th best market hall.Written 8 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - SurvivoryLuxembourg City, Luxembourg918 contributionsOld school luxury department store. The building is beautiful, as is the content. Main focus on clothes but there are other departments as well. No matter what, all comes with an extra touch of luxury feeling.Written 31 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- kattullusStockholm, Sweden1,100 contributionsFine produce offered here and unusually there is a small Systembolaget (State alcohol monopoly) shop with over the counter service. Not as posh as Östermalmshallen but still worth a visit for its international vibe. Very pushy sellers of vegetables, etc.on the outdoor market with bargain prices when the stalls close down for the day.Written 26 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mikael FHelsinki, Finland23,573 contributionsThis mall is characterized by unique shops, restaurants, and cafes.
It has a very striking-looking entrance with a colorful LED ceiling.
We visited here just to dine at 18|89 Fast Fine Pizza on the 1st floor.Written 8 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - traveltripper1Dublin165 contributionsI was impressed with this shopping centre. It's small but the shops are really good. There's a kitchen shop, whose name I can't remember, but it had excellent quality products e.g. Le Creuset, and there was a good sale on the day we were there. There's a wonderful Freshii restaurant on the ground floor - the food was lovely and fresh and tasty with numerous healthy options. This centre can hold it's own with larger centres and it's nice not to see the same outlets repeated everywhere.Written 28 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Robert Folke Nordstrom3 contributionsWe visited this special place in 1996 and again in 2019. Happy to see it is still operating and thriving for it's friendly and knowledgeable owner. Well worth the visit.Written 19 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- FlorenceLoves2TravelNew York107 contributionsI liked Hotorghallen better than the other market Östermalms Saluhall. Hotorghallen is worth a browse even if you have no intent to buy. Go down the escalator to find vendors selling fresh fish, meats, fruits n vegetables, cheeses, coffee/tea, etc. There are also a few eateries to choose from. I think the star of the market is Kajsas Fisk, an affordable seafood restaurant. It's always busy in there and the tables are always filled. Food is great. There's also a vendor that sells all sorts of nuts, dried fruits, seeds, grains, that is actually reasonably priced.Written 14 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Dean NealLondon97 contributionsYou need to take a tram (One stop) to get here and a three minute walk - a nice secluded space with interesting contemporary shows - please check the dates as it will be closed for Summer.Written 14 June 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- LiamolaHelsinki, Finland148 contributionsSmall gallery with interesting and high quality photos. Takes about 20-30 mins to explore the exhibition if you are not interested in technical details etc. Free entry.Written 15 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Nana PiesieGothenburg, Sweden1,358 contributionsVery small mall with basic shops and a small food court . Very hectic I did not know if it was because of the sale or if it's like that always .Written 1 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Darwin1859Lugano, Switzerland88 contributionsStrictly speaking to call the Fotografiska Musèet a museum is perhaps a misnomer, in the sense that it is not about the history of photography, let alone about how the art of photography grew-up and developed in Sweden. I would describe it more as an art gallery which displays works of art using a photographic medium to express themselves.
When we went in May there were four photographic shows by four different contemporary artists and also a photo-reportage about a sweat-shop factory which collapsed a few years ago in Bangladesh’s capital Dacca causing death and destruction.
The building housing the Photography Museum is in itself stunning ( the old customs house ) situated on the waters’ edge with an amazing view across the Stockholm archipelago.Written 10 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Mike FNottingham, UK209 contributionsTo have Ai Wei Wei as the first exhibition for your newly opened gallery is to set the bar very very high. But that is what Galerie Forsblom have done. And if you get a chance just go! "Tyres" by Ai Wei Wei is a compact but inspiring exhibition reflecting Ai Wei Wei's frequent disillusion with central authority and their disregard for humanity.
It will inspire you to think again about your place in society and how much you let your own government take from you. So much is done in the name of order and the greater good, whilst little heed is taken of the people who suffer as a result.Written 19 February 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Harrij SDen Bosch, The Netherlands561 contributionsWe enjoyed great coffee, sandwiches, tosty and of course Fika at the Stadmission in the hearth of Stockholm... - Anastasia KStockholm112 contributionsRecently I like to come to Tensta. It feels different from central Stockholm, and more ineresting. People look more engaged into what they do, they are somewhat more serious. Tensta konsthall is one of such examples. I don't understand anything in modern art, but I like the soul of this place. White, spacious, welcoming, full of hopes. Btw, there is no obligatory fee for the exhibition, one may simply donate some money if he wants. And there is a small café where delicious coffee is poured from jebenas, and one may look at the snow through the huge window. What if I say that Tensta may become a new Söder?Written 22 January 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
