Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Planning this trip couldn't have been easy, but the organisers did an excellent job to ensure that everything would run smoothly. Logistics management was splendid.

Not only that, but our guide was super knowledgeable, engaging, funny, kind, and accommodating. She taught us a lot about the different stages of Greek Christianity and about the geography of Meteora.

We also had great food, experienced some stunning views, and spent an entire day in the company of some very lovely people.

Absolutely amazing experience and a must do! Yes, the train ride isn't a quick one. However, going there we were able to see the countryside. We had a drink and a bite to eat. The bus met us right at the train station to start the tour. Extremely knowledgeable guide and plenty of time to visit the outlined monestaries. Need euro to enter there. If you don't wear a skirt or dress below knees, they have them there for 3 euro. Lunch stop was quick due to train being late, but very good spot. Train ride back home was long, but again we had a drink and a bite to eat. Highy recommend!

I took this tour on a solo trip to Greece in May 2023.
Overall I really enjoyed the tour, but there were a few complaints:
The tour guide did not introduce herself or the driver and was not very friendly or personable.
There were mainly English speaking people on the tour, but she did the tour in French first.
She was knowledgeable, though, but had a monotonous voice and speaking French first was annoying.
The sites visited were great and Meteora was spectacular.
One word of warning about Meteora: when inside the monasteries wear a mask. They are very crowded and poorly ventilated. I didn’t wear a mask and tested possitive for Covid a few days later.
Another caution: Pay for the tourist class hotels. I paid for a first class and found out that several others on the tour paid for tourist class and stayed in the same hotels. It was several hundred dollars difference.
My travel agent contacted Viatour and they would not refund the difference or provide a reasonable explanation.
Overall the tour was enjoyable and worth the money.

This was by far one of our favorite tours. It was a wonderful, well-planned activity from start to finish. Our tour guide Maria was very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Our driver Kostas was very kind and drove us around Meteora safely. They allowed us time to take photos, take in the scenery and it didn’t feel rushed. I 100% recommend this tour.

It was a great experience for both my Wife and me. The narrator and great driver (like a chauffeur) made the bus ride very comfortable and effective, with multiple rest stops, and stories. The Delphi and Meteora were must sees. Hotel and dinner stop for the overnight trip, were more than adequate, and wide distribution of food choices and desserts. Cost was appropriate. I have always been adverse to considering a bus tour. This changed my mind. An overnight bag was definitely a great idea, instead of our giant bags for our total 15 day trip.

We would highly recommend this trip! Our guide, George Ilios (aka Captain George!) was so very knowledgeable, friendly and just fun! He took us to some incredible places and was so kind stopping for photos and beautiful spots. George's knowledge made the trip so much more enjoyable! We had a beautiful time. It was my favorite part of our whole trip. The monasteries at Meteora were breathtaking. And the meal at the end---so delicious!! Thank you, George, for making this a truly magical day for all of us!!!

Would strongly recommend two days in Meteora so you can do the hiking tour on the second day morning.

The hiking tour at Meteora was absolutely the highlight of my twenty days trip in Greece and Italy. Chris was very professional with great local knowledge and insight! Being able to spend a whole hour at Varlaam in the morning before the tourist buses arrive was abolutely amazing. So serene!! Thanks Chris! Was great to meet you. :)

This 2 day tour is absolutely worth it.
The bus is luxurious and comfortable, with fast wifi. Our driver Thomas, is very capable and an excellent bus driver, easily navigating narrow winding roads.
We opted for the 3 star hotel (Orfeus) and it was perfect. Our rooms were newly renovated with very comfortable beds and clean and crisp linen. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel were delicious.
Our guide, Evangelos, was very knowledgeable and shared information about all the areas of Greece we drove through. He is very friendly and goes out of his way to make sure all our needs were taken care of. At every site visited he was just a treasure trove of information! Delphi and Meteora are both mind blowing!

We were delighted with the punctuality of the service, value for money, knowledge and experience of our guide Yiorgos.

We took the drive to Meteora via the scenic route recommended by Yiorgos and we were able to see the magnificent landscape and agricultural aspects of the region including the Pindus mountains, the olive and peach groves and the fields full of sunflowers.

On arrival at Meteora our driver took us to areas not witnessed by the majority of visitors which we found fascinating. The only downside was the number of visitors, mainly on coach trips, that made the monasteries slightly overcrowded but we visited during peak season. On return journey Thessaloniki we asked to visit Neraida and the lake of Polyfytou which we found utterly inspiring.

The convenience and comfort of the private tour made our experience extremely enjoyable. Our transfers to and from the airport were equally comfortable and arrived as booked.

We would not hesitate to recommend De Tours Transfers. Our very grateful thanks to Illias, Dimitra and Yiorgos for making this all possible.
