Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- VanessaLytham St Anne's, UK3,352 contributionsIconic bridge with great views of Porto and Vila Nova De Gaia. Two levels to the bridge and accessible by road and path. There is a funicular at the side of it to take you up to the top of the city, but this wasn't working when we went. (Be prepared for lots of steep hills and steps!)
We wandered over the bridge a couple of times to visit the other side which is a must! There is lots to do and see over there too.Written 7 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - malc1005Kettering, UK4,723 contributionsThis is a lovely bridge, best viewed by taking a river cruise, originally a railway bridge built in the 19th century, now disused. Well worth a look.Written 24 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RschagrinDelray Beach, FL17,471 contributionsAnother bridge that connects Porto with Vila Nova De Gaia crossing the Duoro River. We saw it when taking the 6 bridges river cruise.
