What travellers are saying
- Adam J5 contributionsThe tour was very well organised from start to finish. From booking to arriving very easy.
We were a group of 4 Adults and 2 x children.
The crew were very funny and accomdating at all time. This is a must do trip when you are in Lagos.
The wind was very strong but that didn't stop us from having great fun.
We all had life jackets of a good quality that fitted all sizes.
A positive point was that we didn't get towed out to sea, we were on board a old fishing ship, which was much better I think than being towed out to sea!
The skipper and crew were top.
We had a lovely cooling drink after the fun and motored back home with the sun in our faces, with lots of beautiful memories and cameras full of photos to remind us of this tour.
It was a high light.Written 29 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Highly recommend arriving by 9:00am for a good spot so you can set up before the crowd.Written 5 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - gowrie12Cardiff, UK20 contributionsQuite a small beach, which is reached by a lot of steps, so not suitable for people with mobility problems. Also it is advisable to check the tide times as the water comes in and covers most of the beach at high tide, so there is very little space left to sit on the sand. There is a small beach bar which stocks limited drinks which are quite expensive. However it is a lovely place to swim with clear water. Depending on wind conditions you may get a lot of seaweed drifting in.Written 14 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Neil P56 contributionsWalked the beach on a couple of occasions during the recent break - great way of catching some sun then indulge yourselves at one of the wooden restaurants just on the beach - fantastic!Written 30 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SWH100Cardiff, UK922 contributionsWe walked here from Lagos town for a yoga class. We arrived a little early and got to enjoy an hour on the beach. We went for a swim in the waves which was really fun, although there was quite a lot of seaweed which isn’t my favourite. Busy beach but not too crowded. Toilet block and beach bar was really handy. Lots of parking too. Beautiful spot to watch the sun go down.Written 29 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jill J20 contributionsA very pretty little zoo with a good selection of birds from budgies and parrots to huge, rather frightening monsters that looked a bit prehistoric. Meercats, penguins, monkeys, snakes, flamingos, turtles..... No big game - no elephants or lions - but well worth a gentle stroll for half a day. Everything looked well-cared for and clean. A pleasant snack bar. Beside it is O Cangalho, a charming, very Portuguese restaurant with a good menu and great service.Written 24 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - hans-jaguarSanta Comba Dao, Portugal20,426 contributionsThe “Marina de Lagos” is a modern marina located in the Bay of Lagos, next to the Historic Center of the city. It was inaugurated in the year 1994 and receives pleasure boats on theire visit of this region of Portugal or, that are, passing by sea, for other stops. It has 460 seats for boats and their support facilities (toilets / changing rooms, laundry, etc.); it has shopping and dining areas, a hotel (Marina Club), residential areas, green and leisure areas (namely Parque Aventura, for the fun of the youngest), also offering activities such as deep-sea fishing and boat trips. visitors who wish to discover the Algarve from the sea.
This is also the location of the “Discovery Museum” with his “Wax” statues,Written 27 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Park the car just outside the city wall in a parking garage which is machine operated (gives change). Reasonable rates. Lots to do and walk around. Recommend stroller for small kids.Written 12 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- rabandtedHitchin, UK158 contributionsAlthough we didn’t actually get right down to the dam the views to it from the top road were stunning. The area all around here is lovely and well worth a car tour. We went from Alvor up into the hills to the dam, then down west to the little coastal road, passing a great wetland area with good path down the side, which we walked in our eternal search again for the elusive purple gallinule!Written 13 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Larissa FSwitzerland18 contributionsNot very easy to access. It's not a very difficult hike, but the path is not very safe. Steps are crumbling and there is a very narrow part that you have to hold on to wooden sticks. If you can go pass that, the beach is beautiful, very secluded, clean and beautiful water.Written 12 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Peter B8 contributionsWe were staying in Alvor about 20 minutes by taxi (€16 each way). The vineyard has gone full organic for grapes and bottling and the own is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable host. Good to hear and learn about local grape varieties and sample 3 of his bottlings. I'm usually a red wine man but the white here was made some on and gave the wine a deeper complexity and colour. Drinks in the front of his house enjoying the weather, his dogs and most of all the wine with tapas. A really nice afternoon. But book ahead as they are busy.Written 23 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Rebecca C1 contributionThis is a great little place. Really well laid out, friendly staff, lots of different activities to do. My 6 and 3 year old loved it. Outside spaces were lovely and perfect on a rainy day where we could pop in and out. Really reasonably priced, under 6s are free. We spent a couple of hours there but could happily have spent longer.Written 23 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Francisco Jose Fernandez SanchezLas Rozas, Spain413 contributionsIf you go to Lagos you have to visit this church, I think the most important in the city
It is a typical Portuguese church, located in a wide and beautiful square, it is old but was partially restored after a fire
It is worth noting the strange mural behind the altar, where a battle between orange and purple angels is depicted.
It is not a grandiose church but it is worth it to see its tiles
In the sacristy there is a collection of images from the 18th century, one of which highlights the image of the Menino Jesus Rei, dressed in period costumes.
Just south of the church there is a restored stretch of the Lagos city walls, it is worth following the walk through the city from thereWritten 11 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The exhibits are good. The building although stark white still pocesses a feeling or presence from the past. Would have thought there may have been more detail about the actual building and how people were enslaved. Would highly recommend this museum. The town itself is stunning and the Museum is a must see however very sad its content isWritten 29 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
