What travellers are saying
- BarossSpikkestad, Norway1,883 contributionsMy hotel mention this stairs to go up since it was a beautiful view from the top and used an hour to walk up.
I dont konw of long time I used but the view was perfect and I had a good time there on the top where You on the right side after climbing up to right will see a memory monument for the wars.
I then go wrong because I didnt follow the map correctly.
But the stairs up was hard and I had 2 breaks ar not in super shape.
But it was worth it. Beautiful wiew some places at top. Not after the steps up but later.Written 10 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I havent seen a building like this before. The size from outside when I left train and walked out was that its so big.
Designed by the renowned architect Santiago Calatrava, the Liège-Guillemins railway station is a testament to contemporary architecture’s boundless creativity. Opened in 2009, the station’s design showcases Calatrava’s signature style, characterized by fluid lines, dynamic structures, and a harmonious blend of form and function.
I will look for some photo I had problem with getting the total building inside even from distance.Written 12 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unfortunately, it was closed so I could just see outside all cathedral.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Holidaygirl78Crawley, UK46 contributionsWe decided to come here after seeing the restaurant on Trip Advisor and so glad that we did. It is only open Thursday to Sunday, but luckily, we visited on a Thursday and the place was really busy. We arrived early (before 7pm) and managed to get a table on the outside terrace, which was clean and had a great atmosphere, but there are also lovely indoor areas and other terraces. The staff were very friendly and the menu was available in English. We had a mixture of items from the main menu and the sharing plates and all were good. We also tried a couple of beer flights and throughly enjoyed the beers - we even took a few bottles away with us. Would definitely return if we were ever in the area.Written 24 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - belgianguy1Bruges, Belgium11,318 contributionsIt's a steep climb up, but you get rewarded with great views over the city and the river...the citadel itself seems neglected though, nothing to visit there...just go for the workout and the viewWritten 21 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jozef OBrussels, Belgium192 contributionsI had relatively low expectations, based on the reviews I had read. Still the permanent collection had some very nice and interesting paintings. obviously not the most famous pieces but still quite worthwhile.Written 31 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jozef OBrussels, Belgium192 contributionsThis is a bit of a particular museum. Part of it is just the history of Liège and the surrounding country from prehistory through early modern times. This part includes some nice Roman and medieval pieces. It is also part a city museum focusing on some of the particular local heroes (they do love Napoleon) and especially on the local arms industry which is pretty famous. The weapons collection is impressive.Written 31 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Walter TPhiladelphia, PA168 contributionsWe came near closing so we had a personal guide show us the historic baptismal font. The history of the font alone both as a work of art and religious significance is worth the visit alone. The Eglise was resurrected from ruins to be a showcase of restoration and a fitting tribute to St. Barthelemy.Written 25 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gerson van LuijkRotterdam, The Netherlands406 contributionsAlthough it is not the main church of Luik, this one is at least as pretty, but probably prettier than the St paul. Especially the roof is amazing. A very good place to enjoy piece and quietness.Written 11 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kawaii DThe Netherlands208 contributionsAugust 2016: I was really curious about this place. The aquarium part was really nice, but the animal part of the museum was a bit overwhelming. There were a lot of stuffed animals, most of them I had never seen before. If your around, you should take a look.Written 12 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DavidDundonaldEdinburgh, UK935 contributionsA lovely little opera house that seats just 1,000 but feels a lot bigger.
We were very lucky to see the world's greatest living Soprano, Ermonela Jaho and had the best seats in the house all for 50 Euros.
The acoustics ae good, the staff are friendly, my only gripe is the appalling bar upstairs. Crap lighting. Crap drink selection. Crap art on the walls. No music and no atmosphere. Someone needs to sort this space out and learn how to make a theatre bar make money.
It did not spoil a superb night however.Written 22 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We visited the temporary exposition of Warholl. Well done. Friedly staff.Written 1 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
