Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fun to take a stroll around Old Town, Alstadt. Beautiful streets, buildings, cafes, shopping and churches. Well preserved area with old and new mix. Enjoyed our time.

Super cool and unique church that dominates part of the Zurich city skyline. It was closed when I was there unfortunately so I was only able to see the exterior

This is one of Zurich's' beautiful and touristic area in the city. The area is very lively with lots of restaurants, churches , shops etc. There are mainly winding and cobblestone roads in this area. You can get lost in for an entire evening just soaking up the vibes. You can sit at one of the many sidewalk cafes and have a drink or dine. Be sure to relax and enjoy the river and lower down on the southern en is Grossmunster church. Enjoy the medieval ambiance of this area and wear comfy shoes due to the many cobblestone roads

For the 5 CHF entry fee the Fraumunster provided a peaceful and cool respite from the unusually warm temperatures Zurich was experiencing. On a bright sunny day the Chagall stained glass windows were a wonder to behold.

This church is another of the gorgeous buildings in the city from the 19th century. However, what stands out about it is that is has the largest clock face in all of Europe. This church bis not to far from Fraummunster and is easy to find. Note their is a small fee to enter this building.. ha.it seems .nothing is free in Zurich it seems.

This part of the lake provides an excellent view of the Zurich city and its surroundings of the lake, the mountains, the boats, the old towns, the rising churches and what not. Just relax on the lake shore and enjoy the beauty.

This is a central place in old town of Zurich and contains historical buildings, banks, shopping arenas on its periphery. There are good eating places and shopping for branded goods available.

After a walk down the Bahnhofstrasse we ended up at the picturesque Burkliplatz, a park plaza laid down in 1882-87 under direction of town engineer Arnold Burkli (hence its name). This plaza has bences where you can sit and take in the views of the Alps in the distance and the azure blue Zurich Lake in front. Well worth a visit when in Zurich.

This square is dominated by the trams station but it has so much more to offer. The views of its surrounding and lake close by is worth a visit. The Bellevue promenade begins here and the lake as well. The area has restaurants and pubs so even if you are not here for transport there are much to enjoy.

Eventhough shopping, Limmat river and Lake Zurich might be the primary reason for going to Zürich do not overlook the charming Schanzengraben Canal. Built as a city fortification system in the 17th century, the canal is now lined with wooden boardwalks and sandstone slabs, and runs from the Gessnerbrücke past the Mannerbadi to the mouth of the lake at Bürkliplatz. It’s at its prettiest near the Baur au Lac hotel, but the action—water polo!—happens near the Selnaubrücke. Are you here with your dog it will propably love to dip its toes in the crystal clear water.

If you like swimming, this little gem is just down from the Zurich, on the left side as walk down stream. Trams 2 and 4 stop at Kruzstrasse from where it’s a short walk down to the lake. It’s not a swimming pool in the conventional sense but a number of wooden jetties built out over the lake. There are steps leading down from each jetty into the water. There is no shallow water, it’s just straight in to the lake, so it’s not suitable for children or non swimmers. There are two pontoons about 50m offshore, ideal for basking or jumping in. Even at the end of September the water was a comfortable 20 deg. C. The staff are very friendly, and speak English much better than my German. Don’t worry if you didn’t bring a towel you can hire one for 20CHf, refunded when you leave. The clientele might be a bit older than you expect, I guess from, 30 ish to very old. There is lots of space for sun bathing, but as a tourist you just to swim and get back o touristing.
