Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had a delight of the tour in Palazzo Colonna with Rebecca! Not only that she explained with details but replied to all our questions and even took pictures of us upon request. And she matches perfectly well the setting, like a real princess. Thank you, dear Rebecca, for the unforgettable experience with you!

Absolutely remarkable. The beauty of the interior. The perfection of the illusions. An must for any lovers of art when touring Rome. Busy but not over crowded. Highly recommended

This place was an amazing surprise. The family's "home" where you could experience a ballroom with an orchestra balcony, a small chapel and even a room for the Pope. The audio guide was excellent and provided many fascinating details about the family and the artworks. I highly recommend this place!

This was my first tour to a catacomb and wanted to do something different in Rome.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, I would take a jumper or coat as its cold down there. the tour lasts around 30 minutes. There are also a few more catacombs nearby that are worth the visit.

We loved this beautiful Basilica, with layers of history and the added bonus of not being crowded. We really felt like we were travelling in time with each layer!

Sometimes it can be challenging to visualize how ancient baths were used in our modern era, but the Terme di Caracalla are a stunning reminder of the importance and popularity of water in historic daily life.
We were attending the opera Turandot here at the Baths, so we had a little time before the event to explore a bit, and see some of the magnificent structures. Holding special shows here is a great way to repurpose the grounds. This is a large property which is a bit farther out from some of the other many popular sites, but well worth a visit.

This relatively obscure little museum features artwork (if you can call it that) created from the skeletons of long-dead monks.
It is an ossuary that is probably unique in the Europe experience.
The message is intended to convey the inevitability of death - and maybe a pathway to immortality of the soul.
It is not intended to be macabre - but it is. What twist of imagination spurred the named artist to give eternal life as an art form to the bones of those long dead?
It is worth seeing, but the viewer has to keep recalling the intent of the original creation, an insight into death and not a spectacle of the weird.

Santa Maria is considered the likely first official place of Christian worship in Rome. Its original church building was completed in 340 A.D. Through the centuries, it was expanded and renovated. As you enter the building, note the fragments of ancient friezes. Within the basilica, three naves are divided by 22 granite columns. Mosaics were added in the 12th century, the same year the bell tower was constructed. The floor mosaics date back to the 13th century, while the gilded ceiling dates to the 17th century. I took my time checking out all the details. I sat and looked up to the octagonal ceiling painting "Assumption of the Virgin" by Domenichino, surrounded by gilded coffers. I looked down and around to see the beautiful mosaic flooring. I walked to the back of the church for the long shot up the center aisle and the main altar with "The "Coronation of the Virgin"mosaic above. Lots of other details to enjoy as well.

We arrived here with a super short queue which I’m unsure if it’s always like that, really nice ceilings and architecture throughout.

While not really cheap, this attraction is worth the money. Especially, if you think you have already seen all of ancient Rome. This part of the palace of emporer Nero is made available to the public with guided tours and supplemented by VR-presentations. The places are limited and well frequented - so you better bookm in advance.

Because of the proximity to our hotel (in Rome), we decided to attend Mass at this Church. It looked like a stone cave on the outside-nothing attractive. We entered with our mouths opened. The interior beauty was so unexpected: the frescoes, interior architecture & fabulous ancient organ. After Mass, we were gifted with a concert played on the organ by a very gifted musician. This is definitely a must see for visitors in Rome-termini area.

Fantastic museum and well worth a visit. The guided tour takes about an hour, is beautifully done with simple audio in selection of languages, and amazing visual effects which show a Roman dwelling of the time.

Architectural treasure! Definitely worth the trip, especially if you are into Architecture. Visit Piazza Mincio and enjoy this spectacular array of different styles, built in the early 1900’s . Truly wonderful.
