Park was a nice break from all the crowds, nice walking area. Highly recommend. Several blocks away there is a cute restaurant with nice drinks and sitting area.

We found this place by accident. We were wandering through the lovely Villa Borghese, heading towards the Piazza del Popolo and wondering how we were going to get down the hill to the square. That's when we came to this look-off point. The views of the Piazza and of Rome were very nice.

But this is also a pleasant place on its own. There were lots of people milling around, enjoying the sounds of a street musician, having drinks and picnics. A good place to relax after a hike through the gardens or to just people-watch.

Just walked past it when I saw the roses everywhere. It's a beautiful garden and it's for free, it was very nice and it smelled lovely

We queued for over an hour, some idiots spend five minutes messing about with videos and having three or four looks. Remember there is a queue, we all want to look before sunset. Thank you.

It is difficult to get a approach video that then focuses in to to the dome.

    The pictures are awesome

    Such a hidden gem

Make sure you walk back and go into the gardens for the optical illusion from the garden edge.

As you walk backwards from the edge, the dome grows and comes towards you.

The garden as a whole was just average and a little tired, but some parts of it was really good. Best were the fountain of the stairs (beautiful!) and the "simple" garden. It was a quiet place and not too many visitors, som nice place to relax between busier sights. You could also buy water/cola/coffee in vending machines.

In a city that has many amazing viewpoints, this might be my favorite. A lovely park where you can get a wonderful view of the Vatican, the forum, and the Vittoriano monument. Worth the trip.

Beautiful informal gardens a 15 min walk from Piazza de Popolo. We really appreciated the peace and tranquility, a total contrast to the hustle and bustle of central Rome.

We hired boats on the artificial lake, it was so relaxing.

My Palazzo Farnese tour in English was pre-booked for 5PM and I joined the line for the security check at 4:40PM. The Palazzo belongs to the French Embassy, so needless to say that security check was very thorough. Actually, there were two security checks: one outside and another one inside. Do not carry big bags!!!

The tour was pretty interesting, but the interior did not strike me as something out of the ordinary by Rome's standards. The rooms are empty because all the precious collections of the Farnese family are in Naples now. However, there are two highlights which certainly made the visit very special.

    1. The Room of Maps with spectacular frescoes by Annibale Carracci and his school: "The Love of Gods"

    2. The exterior and the courtyard designed by Antonio da Sangallo. Michelangelo also contributed to some elements of the architectural design of this magnificent palazzo.

And for me personally this visit meant one more thing: the second act of one of my favorite operas, Puccini's "Tosca" takes place in Palazzo Farnese. This is where Tosca kills the evil chief of police, Scarpia, who tortured and condemned to death her lover, the painter Mario Cavaradossi.

Located just above and behind the Colosseum. During the summer, you can enjoy lovely, relaxed, inexpensive jazz concerts!
We spent our last two evenings there, and wished we had gone every night ! Village atmosphere, good choice of food and drinks, different artists every night.
    Highly recommended!

On a long & warm day strolling the streets of Lazio we stumbled upon this quaint & quiet little park. I surmise its history and the statues reflect the fall of Napoleonic rule of Italy in 1814 and celebrates the rebirth of the Italian states. All I know it was a pleasant break from the crowds and a nice respite!

Pleasant gardens on top of the Palentine Hill, with plenty of green to relax in after all the walking. There is an excellent viewing platform with a superb view of the Roman Forum.

Rome, the eternal city, never ceases to amaze. I lived here for over 30 years of my life, but even today, I find new places to visit and attractions to enjoy. Unique this Easter week was TULIPARK, organized by the Votadoro family. In a relatively small space, Davide planted 360,000 tulip bulbs imported from Holland. The garden included over 90 species of tulips: yellow, red, purple, variegated - a veritable treat for the eyes and the soul.
The admission was practically nothing and it included two tulips per person - choose your own and buy more for a nominal price. to make a delightful spring bouquet. A coffee bar, a clown for the kids and evening entertainment made this a very different and great morning outing. Sorry, the flowers have finished blooming for this year, but don't miss it next spring!

A wonderful quiet place to take a break from the noise of Rome. Park benches under the trees provide a peaceful setting for a respite with good views of the nearby castle.
