Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Well, one can’t go to Rome and not see the Pantheon. We went early to beat the crowds… can’t imagine what it’s like at peak visiting hours. It’s very interesting, and worth the visit. But be prepared to have your personal space invaded. It must be incredible when it’s empty.

It’s an impressive collection of buildings full of history and myths surrounding the place of birth of Rome. Again having booked the guided tour was a smart move since we learned so much more from our guide than we would by ourselves

We were recommended to go out to the Catacombes so we caught the bus from the central Termini bus no. 714. Short walk from where you get off. Reserved our tickets online first for a time slot.
You get taken down in groups, guide was very knowledgeable. Very interesting tour amazing place and quite moving to think how many people were buried there. Well worth €10 each.

Sometimes it can be challenging to visualize how ancient baths were used in our modern era, but the Terme di Caracalla are a stunning reminder of the importance and popularity of water in historic daily life.
We were attending the opera Turandot here at the Baths, so we had a little time before the event to explore a bit, and see some of the magnificent structures. Holding special shows here is a great way to repurpose the grounds. This is a large property which is a bit farther out from some of the other many popular sites, but well worth a visit.

While not really cheap, this attraction is worth the money. Especially, if you think you have already seen all of ancient Rome. This part of the palace of emporer Nero is made available to the public with guided tours and supplemented by VR-presentations. The places are limited and well frequented - so you better bookm in advance.

I wanted this place to have been kept and maintained better than what it was left to be! I guess like everything else you make your own version of interpretation and take it with you. It felt forgotten and not cared for.

The Stadium of Domitian is a hidden gem in the heart of Rome. This archaeological site offers a fascinating glimpse into the ancient Roman world, right beneath Piazza Navona. The informative displays and detailed descriptions bring the history to life, making it easy to imagine the grandeur of the original stadium. It's a perfect spot for history enthusiasts, and a quiet escape from the bustling city above. Highly recommended for anyone looking to dive deeper into Rome's rich past!

We were passing this museum and decided that we would pay an impromptu visit ! It wasn't expensive to go in and was well worth the cost. Very impressed with it, lots to see and lots of history and information. Defintely worth a visit if you're in Rome, you won't be disappointed !

This large complex used to be a bath house in Roman days. It is now a branch of the National Roman Museums. It is located near Termini station, a short walk from Museo Nazionale Romano, Palazzo Massimo alle Terme, another, larger branch. In the main building, there are exhibitions on Roman writings and statues. It is a quiet place with not many visitors and is a good place for a leisurely stroll.

Stayed at hotel on the square and got to walk around here several times. Nice ruins to check out. Didn’t go through the pay museum. Also like the multitude of cats lounging around where Caesar was stabbed.

Felt very safe, but maybe not 100% as it is an open area with zero police/security presence. Would definitely do it again. I think it may be possible to get to the Catacombs from within this park. A very nice place. A bit out of town, which required a taxi in both directions for us. Perhaps there is a bus or subway that I didn't know of. Free. Good to get some exercise with some shade. I don't recall seeing any food options, but I didn't look very hard. There are a few different aqueducts of different sizes. Some of them you can get close to. People walk dogs here.

This is a small island in the river Tiber. In the island, there is Basilica di San Bartolomeo all'Isola, that houses the tomb of S. Bartholomew. The church was closed for the summer break when I visited. The island is a nice and peaceful place with cool river breeze.

We stopped off here walking back down the Appia Antica. Service a little brisque but tour guide decent. Creepy underground tunnels (empty) and ends up at underground
Houses. Worth a visit if passing by. We did want to purchase from gift shop but no staff!
