Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a great Basilica and it is free to visit!
If you didn't get to go to the Saint Peter's Basilica, for me, this one will do instead!
This is just as grand, but not as big as the Saint Peter's Basilica.
    Definitely will return!

Very relaxing and beautiful views. Nice area to walk at your own pace, have an Aperito and relax to the music of street performers. It is free.

Rome is dripping in historical delights but the Roman Forum stands head and shoulders above the rest. There is a lot to see here and much to explore. There are plenty of signs to tell visitors what you’re looking at so I don’t think a guided tour is necessary. Walking down the ancient Roman road through the heart of the forum is a pretty surreal experience

It looked as wonderful as expected

However, the huge crowds make it difficult to enjoy the lovely symmetry of the steps as they rise to the Church

Rome has a rich and long history that has left us with a plethora of atmospheric streets in its old town. It’s one of the most fascinating old cities in the world

We rented a VRBO overlooking this area and found it very charming. Very early in the morning the vendors set up for somewhat of a farmer's market. Around 4:30pm they begin to take things down. You are able to bargain with most of the vendors.
In the evening, all the restaurants place outdoor seating and it is very enjoyable. I would really recommend this area to stay, as it is very walkable to all the major attractions.

While not really cheap, this attraction is worth the money. Especially, if you think you have already seen all of ancient Rome. This part of the palace of emporer Nero is made available to the public with guided tours and supplemented by VR-presentations. The places are limited and well frequented - so you better bookm in advance.

I went their because of its grandiosity and the balcony from where Musolini gave his speeches .The building across is great and the vibes of this piazza is there.

Piazza del Popolo is special to us as it was our first and last view of Rome upon arrival in 2011. It is truly the Peoples Square and meeting place and where the three main streets, Via del Corso, Via del Babuino and Via di Ripetta diverge into the city. The Egyptian obelisk of Sety stands in the center of the Piazza. Four majestic lions on each corner of the obelisk offer visitors a drink of water. Three churches surround the square: The Church of Santa Maria del Popolo and the twin Churches of Santa Maria in Montesanto and Santa Maria dei Miracoli. Lots of history to be found in this square.

Via del Corso is a long, busy road, and one of the main arteries of Rome. It connects the lovely Piazza del Popolo to Piazza Venezia and the monumental, wedding-cake building dedicated to Vittorio Emanuele II.
Both are popular sights and Via del Corso provides a direct walking path between them.
At the Piazza del Popolo end, via del Corso is flanked by the beautiful twin domed churches of Santa Maria in Miracoli and Santa Maria in Montesanto.
I generally prefer wandering down side streets, meandering and exploring but if you want a path that will take you straight as the crow flies, then this is it.

Piazza del Campidoglio and the surrounding palaces was created by Michelangelo. The square includes three main buildings- the City Hall and the two palaces that make up the Capitoline Museums. Museum is excellent with vast collection of paintings and sculpture.

This church near Pantheon houses the body of St. Catherine of Siena. (The head is in a church in Siena.) There is also the 'Risen Christ (Christ the Redeemer)' by Michelangelo to the left of the main altar. Behind the main altar is the tomb. When I visited, the rear door of the tomb was open and one could sit behind the tomb and leave prayer notes inside.
