This was an excellent time with our young boys. Def. worth doing since it gave them a chance to learn and live history. Very excellent and fun teacher. This was a must do for our youngest boy and he will remember it always. A nice change from ruins and museums.

We booked this mosaic workshop as a backup plan after something else fell through, but it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. We learned about the history of mosaics and the incredible amount of time and skill that goes into making a mosaic, which really made us appreciate when we saw them in St. Peter's. And the instructor was friendly and patient, and helped even the unartistic members of our group to complete our own. Now we all have a unique souvenir from the experience. Loved it, definitely a nice change of pace from just visiting another museum.

An absolute highlight of our trip! I brought my 14-yr old daughter to Italy and this is something we'll both remember forever.

Giuliana (not sure if I'm spelling her name correctly) was our instructor and she was very nice. We were the only two guests for this class and got a ton of individualized attention. We learned about mosaics, generally, and then about the jewelry making process. We chose the charm shapes for our necklasses, then came up with ideas for what we wanted to create. We picked out pieces of glass from the many colors available, and then cut the glass into the tiny pieces to be used for our projects. We used the actual tools they use and then put everything together. Giuliana helped when we needed it and we were very happy with the pieces we made, which we'll get to keep forever.

Note about the neighborhood: this is in the Monti area of Rome, which is a terrific place to spend time while in Rome. Tons of restaurants, vintage shops, and beautiful streets to walk around. The Mercato Monti Urban Market is also here - an indoor market with hand-made goods, thrifty things, and small business owners. This was walkable from our hotel near Piazza Navona, and many many other things are walkable from this spot.

It was the best two hours that I spent in Rome! I experienced Rome in another way and I learned how to paint and I had fun at the same time! I want to go back Rome to visit Art Gallery Roma and paint more!
I also brought my canvas home with me, I have a proof that I went to Rome and painted with the artists in there!
Nice memories... Great people... in the eternal city...

We had an amazing time with Daniela and other lovely people. An intimate situation for a time travelling with a good glass of wine in hand ! Caravaggio has no secrets for us anymore and we can't wait to have another experience with our host ! We highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys a good wine tasting in a cosy environment while learning about a massive piece of Italian artistic history.

Would definitely recommend for all those looking for things to do in Rome! Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, with great wine, great music, and most importantly, a great lesson. We’ll be hanging our paintings on the wall when we get home! Wish we could do it again.

The sketching tour was exactly what I needed. We had visited Rome recently and had done all the major tours. My husband and I wanted to slow down a bit and take in more of the scene. I am a working artist, so none of the exercises that Kelly provided were new to me, but it had been a while since I had done some of them. She provided the sketchbook, pencil, pens, watercolors, stool and took us to great locations in the Jewish Ghetto. We started with contour line drawing exercises and progressed to shading and color. My husband is not an artist. I wanted him to try it, but he decided to spend the day taking photographs instead. But, I think that, had he wanted to, Kelly's class would have been the perfect way to, with an encouraging instructor, try something that is outside his normal purview. The weather was most cooperative--sunny and warm. Kelly can't guarantee that, but I know that she was coming off an earlier class that she had rescheduled from a different because it had rained. Her schedule is somewhat flexible to allow for changes. I wanted to take the class in October, but we had to postpone our trip at that time. The refund process was very easy. Kelly herself is a wonderful resource for both art and Rome/Italy, where she has lived for 18 years. It was great to spend three hours talking art and Roman life. Though this tour, I got to really see, deeply observe my surroundings as well as get a glimpse into the life of an artist who has made Rome her home. It was a trip highlight, for sure.

OK so we're not the most talented family when it comes to art. But we do like to whack things with hammers, and after 8 days of close-quarters travel the teens were ready to blow off some steam. This quaint little workshop off the beaten path was the perfect place for a small group (8 max) to laugh and relax and get out of the tourist hustle-and-bustle for a few hours. The master artisan was patient and charming-- and with her help we chose our own marble colors and patterns, chiseled the marble into pieces, pounded it into mortar, and ultimately created these surprisingly lovely little mosaics to bring home. I think we all left feeling the most relaxed of all our time in Rome- even the teens. Go pound rocks!

Amazing, informative and personal experience. Teacher took great care in ensuring we had the right image to create a masterful mosaic of, making sure we were all happy with our finished projects.
