When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Dnb197219 contributionsInteresting drive to get there which is part of the experience, winding mountain road with amazing views. Fortunately the road isn’t busy. Views at the top are breath taking and the size of the two guns are un real. Saw the made in England sign and Google
Led us to find out they were made at Vickers, Newcastle , UK which is where we live so added a bit to the visit.Written 2 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The sand is soft and golden and the sea is crystal clear. We went in August (sooo hot, bring lots of sunscreen, water and shade!!) And it did not feel busy at all.
Love love loved it!Written 25 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The entrance is in the pink building in a square nearby. Plaza Heroes de Cavite. It’s a totally illogical place but you walk up through a museum and crypt to get to the theatre. Also there is no advantage in getting online tickets. We had ours on our phone but because it wasn’t printed off we had to join the usual queue. Luckily it wasn’t too long but there is no shade to wait in.Written 17 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Casa de LuciaDehesa de Campoamor, Spain29 contributionsCastle itself with a modern exhibition space didn't make such an impression as the views and the park surrounding it. The lift down to the city is also an interesting experience.Written 26 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MN_WalkersMinneapolis, MN618 contributionsThis isn’t so much a museum of things found underwater as it is about the techniques of doing underwater archaeology - the care that must be taken in planning, exploring, excavating and preserving (including, sometimes, covering up an excavation after it’s completed) a find. It is highly informative, well presented (with most explanations in both Spanish and English) and educational. There are detailed descriptions of the processes a proper exploration follows, videos, hands-on exhibits and displays of items found in the waters around Cartagena and of how cargoes were loaded on ships both in antiquity and in the age of sail. There is an extensive treatment of an attack by a British fleet on four Spanish galleons carrying gold and silver from the Americas to Spain, the sinking of one of the Spanish ships, the finding of the wreck and its treasure 200 years later by a private American company, and the subsequent lawsuit over who had the rights to the treasure. The museum is not very large but it conveys a lot of information. We spent about an hour and a half and found it very interesting. Admission is €3 (€1.5 for seniors) and is free Saturdays after 2:00 and all day Sundays.Written 18 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ronald LDenver, CO2,934 contributionsWalked to the Naval Museum. Models of sailing ships, uniforms, clothing, weapons, armament, navigation, torpedoes, and mines. Also a timeline, from early 1500’s to 2015, detailing participation of the Spanish navy in world events. Information in Spanish and English.
Walked next door to second Naval Museum, this one specializing in Submarine service in Spain, starting with Peral’s electric sub from 1888. They also have a collection of approximately 40 model sailing ships collected by Julio Castelo Matran. The Peral sub was the first military vessel to be built in a Spanish Naval shipyard using a steel hull. In 1890 it was the first sub to fire a torpedo underwater. On June 7, 1890, it sailed 1 hr. at 10 meters depth and emerged at pre-established coordinates.Written 8 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
