Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Te trip was amazing, the views fantastic, and the guide, Nuri was a genius! She did an amazing job of explaining the history of everything in a way that was both easy to understand and super interesting. At the end of the tour, we felt that we were friends with the others in the group, and that was because of her. I highly recomend this tour!!

Started the tour on our own in Barcelona at the speed train station, met the tour guide outside the train station in Madrid. We got there, waited for everyone in the group to arrive, then we started walking towards the Prado Museum, along the way we wanted to take pictures but the tour guide wouldn’t let us because we had to keep walking and we could take pictures on the way back (spoiler alert, we didn’t get to walk back that way). We got to the museum which was a 20 min walk or so, and the tickets were not ready for us, so we had to wait for the tour guide to get us tickets. Once in the museum, we walked through a few rooms, she briefly explained some art and then was on her phone through the tour. We would hear the voice messages she was playing on her phone through the microphone that would play in our ear pieces. Through the tour she also made some unnecessary comments and would often roll her eyes like she was over being around people. When the museum tour was over we walked about 30-45 mins and she dropped us off in the middle of the town square. She did not explain to the group which areas/landmarks/monuments we were walking by and was only talking to the person next to her as she was not waiting for the group to walk together. Then she left us on our own with about 2hrs of spare time to get lunch and walk 30 minutes back to the train. To be honest, this tour wasn’t worth the $185/person. I felt like I paid for a train ticket and to go into a museum which I only got to see half of. Our tour guide’s name was Cristina

We booked a TUI all day trip to Montserrat from La Pineda which was well worth it. Bus picked us up at 9 a.m. & the ride was around 90 mins. Teresa, TUI rep was excellent throughout the day as well as the tour guide within the Sacristy/Basilica. Also, had free time to roam/visit whatever you wanted. The price included the train up to Montserrat, audio tour, schnapps tasting & entry to the Basilica which allowed fast track entry.... Well worth visiting the Black Madonna. There are some local market stalls selling food produce which are on the way to the Restaurant & coach parking area. We had a lovely cheese & ham baguette in the cafeteria which had plenty of seating. There are couple of gift shops & there are toilets across from the Post Office & near the Restaurant. Spectacular views. Bus left at 4 pm. We would have liked more time here really to enjoy this fabulous place.

Montserrat is a stunningly beautiful mountain range in Catalonia that houses monks of the Benedictine abbey. Along with gorgeous views outside, the museum and Basilica are awe inspiring. Don’t miss it!

Great to be a group of only 8. Driver/guide needed a mic in the van because the 3 people at the back couldn’t hear his commentary when in the car. Fine without a mic when in Montserrat and he was very knowledgeable. Don’t expect to hear the choir on a half day tour, at the moment they sing at 1pm. Very enjoyable tour.

We had a terrific day at Montserrat with our guide, Lenise. She navigated the Metro and Renfe for us so easily and got all the tickets we needed at Montserrat! We even got to hear the Boys Choir. Lenise was wonderful to talk to and so knowledgeable about the area and its history. Her enthusiasm about Montserrat was definitely contagious! Thank you.

We had a tour of Monserrat planned from Barcelona where the tour guide,Vicenza, met us and we took the train to Monserrat. Once we arrived, we had to take a cable car to the top of a mountain where our tour started. Just doing these activities were unique for us as we had only toured Barcelona on foot and by bus. The history of Monseratt was explained and shown expertly by Vicenza. Since the three of us are avid walkers, the tour to the "holy cross" and the surrounding area was great. We even stopped on the mountain and had a lunch. The cathedral and other religious/historical stops and explainations were timely for me as I had recently finished a novel that had Monsererat, the Black Madonna and other religious references in the novel.
Vicenza also, upon returning to Barcelona, told us about restaurants to visit and ended with showing us a "local's perspective"of the surrounding area to our hotel. We would definitely utilize Vicenza again for a tour when we return the area. She was personable, knowledgeable and fit in with our family!
