Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Kim W9 contributionsFabulous walk around the crater of a volcano with amazing views. Can’t recommend highly enough - but advise sunrise or sunset for maximum colours.Written 7 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ijturnerBristol, UK40 contributionsA must do.
The view from the big caldera is incredible. Parking was simple enough - rough track - go slow.
It took us around 3 hours to walk to the big caldera (you can see the smaller one on the way) and back. The trip up the side is relatively easy. Some big steps but gentle slope.
Advice: we wore trainers - wear walking shoes if you can as the rough stone paths are really hard on your feet. So worth it though.Written 27 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In this zone, you can see some mountains (or better, some old volcanos). In fact, I came to do a hike surrounding El Cuervo Volcano (a very nice excursion) and from here I saw la Montaña Colorada (Red Mountain) and la Caldera de Santa Catalina (Santa Catalina Mountain), which are very nice. Really, an incredible landscape with a lot of mountains.Written 29 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
