On on side of the canal, there is historical architecture to admire and on the other side you can check out many designer brands that are available for shopping enthusiasts. - Neil KLiverpool, UK826,738 contributionsRheinuferpromenade is a wonderful waterfront promenade that brings you into the wonderful Altstadt onto the equality beautiful Burgplatz, home to the most beautiful Christmas market in Dusseldorf, lots of stalls all beautifully decked out for Christmas period, along the promenade are all manner of bars and the views are outstanding across the River Rhein.

On board very good - food choices excellent, cabin good.Trips good.
Return journey bad/nightmare. Collection by coach from boat delayed due to missing guide. Coach driver did not appear to know the way to Brussels Eurostar. Had not checked route as roads closed due to a marathon, road works etc. missed train and offloaded in side street with cases onto pavement. Guide had no idea where the station or Eurostar entrance was.

Bring apples if you can as the animals like them better than the food for them that you can buy there. Very good with smaller kids as there are a couple of playgrounds.

It's open during the day and definitely worth a visit, especially around lunch time.
