Alstertal Mall is well-known German shopping resource situated in the north of Hamburg. The shopping gallery plan offers space for tens of well-known specialist shops on three elegantly designed promenade levels. The latest expansion project had turned this mall to be the largest center in northern Germany. The shopping center is well-desgined and maintained. The interior is dominated by light natural stone combined with dark wood and stainless steel. Lounges, plants and fountains with light and water features create a relaxing atmosphere. Have fun in shopping and spend some money.

We were staying at an AirBnB studio ap't @ Mundsburg Tower....right there. Visiting friends who live across the street on Winterhuder.
The mall is enormous....it just keeps going and going......................Penny Supermarket is also right there...can't beat their prices and HOW convenient for fruit, yogurt, cereal, etc.

Would definitely stay here again....AND enjoy the mall.

PS Some places accept foreign CC..............and some do NOT.

have a drink, look around, do some tasting. Not really big but nice. The walk to Altona station is past some shops. If you are near, go for it.

The EEZ is a very great but shopping area with enough parking area and you - more or less - not have the feeling that so much people are in there . A good mix of a lot of different shops - very nice atmosphere - a lot of drinking and eation options and mostly some specials you can test something .

For people who live in the neighbourhood, Mercado is a regular place to visit, whether to do shopping or go to the library or have a small snack. Usually open until 8 p.m.

This little place has a good variety of antique items. It’s very pricey but it’s possible to huggle for the price. It’s in the city centre close to the main train station. It’s located in the basement so look for the sign at the entrance to the stairs.

It was my 2nd time in that mall, first time some years ago, and the recurring question was "what the heck are you doing in Billstedt??" from whomever I mentioned some hours would be spent there.
It takes a while to get there, Billstedt is located far from downtown, is served directed by the tube libe U2 and reputation is not the best one: area filled with migrants from all over, some of which not exactly legal in Germany or the EU.
No wonder the full disrespect towards sanitary regulations: few people wearing a mask (properly), even inside the mall, and no control whatsoever! No wonder is the covid incidence in similar areas so high...
Two shops tend to attract crowds into the building: TK-Maxx and Primark, the only branch in whole Hamburg. Therefore, the main audience of the shopping mall being families, so don't expect quietness in any way.
One can even get cheap and good fruits and vegetables inside but be ready to pay half a euro to use the gents.
Anyway, going there is an experience on its own and one gets to see and feel another side of real life Hamburg/Germany, what tourists and locals unfortunately and deliberately ignore.

To go to the Wochenmarkt am Goldbekufer on Saturday is a must I was told; if your a Hamburg tourists, a double must. Even if you do not really need anything, you can stroll along there. There we saw supposedly the best Muffins in the city, which are Meckmanns, the most delicious Mangoes, a huge selection of fresh Herbs and Spices, excellent and for Meat and Sausage products, tasty Fish and of course Cheese, Bread, Vegetables, Fruit and Flowers in abundance. We met people who have been going to this market almost every week for over 18 years and love the diversity and the family atmosphere. The traders, with whom they regularly shop, know them by their names. It is reported this is one of the best weekly markets in Hamburg. The market offers everything you can imagine. This market is beautiful. Small, but fine, you could say. The stands are well arranged. Especially recommended to us were the Cheeses. The selection is gigantic

The building houses a shopping center. I'm not a fan of this but this couldn't stop me to admire the beauty of the building.

This museum is a part of the Deitorhallen in Hamburg but located outside the city. Located in what must be an old converted warehouse the museum has a quite unique feel to it.

We saw the Raymond Pettibon exhibition which was exceptional.

The museum has very limited opening hours and mostly have only guided tours, and mostly in german. The guide we experienced was both capabable and very engaging in her tour.

The museum focuses on counter art which makes it very interesting
