- waldorf53Lytham St Anne's, UK1,367 contributionsA lovely park with terraced gardens and lots of areas to explore. We visited after we had toured the palace. A nice place to visit.Written 1 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mili SPrague, Czech Republic383 contributionsIt is worth to visit inside and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere. It must have been really a pleasant place for Frederick to spend there the summer time...sans souciWritten 10 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- waldorf53Lytham St Anne's, UK1,367 contributionsA nice historical location famous for its role in slicing up Europe after the war. Even for those not interested in history it is a nice place to visit.Written 1 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mili SPrague, Czech Republic383 contributionsWonderful! The long walk through the marvelous park provides you with a possibility to visit a witness of important German history. Should you like to visit the king's apartement, you must tell it at the ticket house and make a reservation for a certain time.Written 10 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- waldorf53Lytham St Anne's, UK1,367 contributionsA very nice area with gardens and nice buildings all reflecting the history of the location near the end of the war.Written 2 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- MarcusHurleyBristol, UK8,282 contributionsThe Dutch Quarter of Potsdam is a pretty collection of buildings with distinctive Dutch style housing. Although I'm usually an advocate of cars in this instance, cars being parked on both sides of the streets detracts from appreciating the buildings. Some nice little shops and cafes here too.Written 2 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- toslJersey City, NJ571 contributionsI did not realize that the largest collection of Monets in Europe, outside of France, was in Potsdam. Originally, I was going to do some more "Cold War" history but decided to spend my time here. An outstanding collection of Impressionist art without museum fatigue. An easy 45-minute train ride from Berlin, and a pleasant 10-minute walk from the train station. A must for any art lover.Written 18 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- NemoTravelerAarhus, Denmark409 contributionsThis is a bridge across the Havel River near Potsdam. Tram line 93 from the city center terminates just south of the bridge.
During the Cold War the bridge was closed to the public, but the Western Allied and the Soviet used it for the exchange of prisoners. It has also appeared in a number of spy films, symbolizing the division during the Cold War.
The bridge was reopened in November 1989.Written 13 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - A A1,003 contributionsFew wooden houses in the green area of Potsdam. The surrounding is so quiet. Quite popular destination for cyclists.
I love the architecture!
You might have Russian cuisine in the restaurant at the corner.
Worth seeing!Written 1 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Jan M537 contributionsThis place is definitely worth visiting. Neat place and great architecture in one place. There is a nice photogenic pool inside so photographers will have a hard time deciding what the best photo really is. And the views from the top. Do not hesitate and climb to one or both of the towers. You can see tens of kilometres away on a clear day. Lots of greenery around. Bike-friendly. Free toilets nearby. What else to ask for?Written 5 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Leo1 contributionPark Babelsberg is one of the most beautiful parks I know and it is a must-visit when you're coming to Potsdam. I came here multiple times already and looking forward to come back again.
Back in the days it was build as a summer residence for the first emperor of Germany and it's still well preserved, because many green-keepers keeping it clean day for day. There are old traditional buildings all over the park and you have big green meadows where you can relax, do sports or go for a walk with your dog.
It's not as crowded as many other parks, especially like in Berlin where I come from and in the summertime a small lido opens at the Havel. I love the landscape with its hills and the lake and if you have a day off you should visit Park Babelsberg.
It is easy to reach and just 10-15 minutes by feet from train station Babelsberg.Written 2 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - The Weak Knee TravelerSingapore, Singapore11,766 contributionsLocated in Sanssouci Park, this Palace was constructed in the 1800s for King William IV. Its side wings are now used to store the gardens’ exotic plants in winter.
Nice to visit in Potsdam.Written 6 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Danziger SnuffkinBerlin, Germany133 contributionsA bit underrated sibling of the Sansoucci Park, Neuer Garten is definitely my place of choice for a stroll or a picknick. Perhaps the architecture here is less impressive, but it's still worth to see the Marble Palace and Cecilienhof, while the flower gardens and surrounding lakes will provide great opportunity to sit down for a while and just enjoy the nature.Written 17 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- PuffinmanBerlin, Germany1,012 contributionsThe Filmparc Babelsberg is a great location to be entertained! Several events and show are available. Well organised and good trained people give you a good feeling of fun and learning. In summertime the show in the special areas and with professionalism and enthusiastic spirit done.A day is good for the visit. Dine and drinks are available!Written 3 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- frances008Granbury, TX89 contributionsI thought no other castle in the area could come close to the splendor of Sanssousi, but Babelsberg castle, now restored, is also impressive, utterly peaceful and a joy to visit. The view from the terraces is magnificent, and the garden - an architectural marvel at the time - simply stunning. Spend some time at the castle, where you can read up on the development and challenges of creating the gardens. We found a visit to Babelsberg castle utterly rewarding. Stunning river and lake views, with the Glienicki bridge in full view. (also called the spy exchange bridge) If you are interested in architecture, you will have found another jewel in the Prussian history.
Stop off at the "kleines Schloss" - within the park - for a drink or light lunch. Not bad.Written 4 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
