Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We highly recommend this tour for those that want to be filled to the brim with historical knowledge of this amazing city. Our guide, Julian, met us punctually at our hotel to begin the tour. Julian’s understanding of the complex history of Europe and how that has impacted life and events in Berlin and Germany is outstanding. This is a packed full day of places and events that shaped Berlin and provided an amazing overview of all the influences that came to shape the history and events of the 20th century that were centered in Berlin. We truly appreciated the entire day and the amount of history we learned.

We enjoyed the whole day with Gunter, seeing all these palaces and beautiful gardens. Gunter has an enormous knowledge about Prussien history and kings and their families. So we followed their traces with tea houses, grottos and uncountable sculptures. Gunter even explained why skme of them more naked than overs. After that we had lunchvin an Austrian style café in Potsdam city. We tried a very good Currywurst. Finally we went to the Potsdam Conference palace, more an English landscape manor house. Completely different to the rococo palaces before, and a different time of German history. In total a really recommedable tour! Go for it!

We had a wonderful experience with our tour guide (Shadi) who was very helpful and well-informed. He showed us some amazing places such as Cecilienhof palace and Sanssouci palace, which were both very impressive and significant in history (especially for those who are interested in the second world war, Cecilienhof Palace is a must-see). He gave us enough time to explore these places and then he took us to the charming Potsdam old town, where we enjoyed a delicious lunch at a great Italian restaurant. He also fulfilled our request and took us to the bridge where the US and Soviet used to exchange prisoners during the cold war, as shown in the bridge of spies' movie. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting Berlin.

There’s no better way to connect from Berlin to Prague. Our guide Sebastian was attentive, looked to us for feedback on how the trip was going and if were satisfied with each stop. Don’t waste your day on the train when you can experience the Saxony region with a knowledgeable guide. Highly recommend.

This tour gave a wonderful insight into 3 significant moments in history - Frederick the Great and his building of Germany, the Potsdam Conference which course for Germany following WWII and the bridge of Spies which was a significant part of the Cold War in Germany. All this was done with good lively conversation between the venues.

The gate is located in the heart of the city, so it's easily accessible by taxi. Berlin's taxi service is generally reliable and efficient, but do keep in mind that traffic can be heavy during peak hours. The Brandenburg Gate itself is a stunning piece of architecture with a fascinating history. It's a symbol of unity and peace, and it's particularly impressive when lit up at night. There are plenty of information boards around the gate that provide historical context, and you can also hire a local guide for a more in-depth understanding.

In terms of food and drink, there are numerous cafes and restaurants nearby where you can sample traditional German cuisine. If you have time, I'd also recommend exploring the surrounding area, which includes the Reichstag Building and the Holocaust Memorial.

Sharon guided us through Berlin Jewish life from the 1600's into early 20th century. She gave us insights into daily life which paralleled Jewish life in NYC. She was personable and patient, answering all questions deftly..WAt the conclusion, we coul easily understand the gradual transitions which had occurred.
