It gave us a nice overview of Berlin, the history and sites as we went along. The guide was informative, and it was easy to hear him. You could order refreshments on the boat. The seats are just dining chairs, pushed close together, four on each side of the boat. The rows are pushed close together also. The ride itself is only an hour and doesn't really go too far. The boat heads in one direction for a short while, turns around, goes past where we started from, goes a little way and then once more turns around to return to the start. Despite the short distance, we did feel like we had a good idea of the layout and saw some things that we wanted to return to later. He gladly answered all questions and even made sure we were all on the right transport after leaving us. A very pleasant and educational trip. Plenty of opportunities to hop off and explore further.

We don’t speak German and this meant we could not understand all of the dialogue but this did not spoil our enjoyment. There were a number of hop on hop off competitors running the same route.
