- Sagri2013Indianapolis, IN4,075 contributionsStarting in 1890, the historic Heidelberg Mountain railways, one of the city's most popular attractions. is a two-section funicular railway. It runs all year round between Kornmarkt, about 113 meters above sea level, to Königstuhl, nearly 550 meters above sea level and the highest point in Heidelberg, providing impressive views of the city, the Neckar valley and the Rhine plain - right up to the Palatinate Wine Route. It could accommodate up to 50 passengers on each of its journeys. Since its renovation between 2003 and 2005, the Heidelberger Bergbahn is considered a striking combination of one of the country’s oldest and most modern funiculars mountain railway in Germany presenting quite different appearances. It is the longest mountain railway route in Germany - 1.5 km long. More than a million passengers use the traditional mountain railways and enjoy this attraction every year. Visitors are guaranteed a wonderful view of Heidelberg and the surrounding area. During our ride on it, we experienced Heidelberg and its charming surroundings from a very special perspective.Written 24 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TripRabbitVirginia301 contributionsI suppose there are other places in the world where university students incarcerated for mostly petty crimes were permitted to express remarkable artistic creativity on the walls — and where that creativity is still possible to see. But there certainly cannot be many, and it is remarkable to see the results of these students' creativity right in front of you from floor to ceiling. This is an unusual if not unique attraction, and while some of the cathedrals and castles one might visit may sometimes blend somewhat in our memories over time, this will always stand out and be clearly remembered. Most worthwhile.Written 26 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- JXXXRUnited Kingdom4,896 contributionsJesuitekirche is a nice church located in the old town in Heidelberg. The Church is nicer than most, however it is nowhere near as stunning as the best in Europe.
