Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

We spent a lovely sunny day here in September. We were touring Normandie for the week and this was one of my “must go to” places. Parking was plentiful and at a reasonable cost - €6 for the day. The beach area is gorgeous with a boardwalk that stretches from the harbour right along the beach. There are numerous bars along the boardwalk both on and off the beach. We stopped at one of them Bar de la Mer for drinks. While prices were not cheap, we did expect to pay a premium for being on the beach and for being at an “upmarket” resort. I had an Aperol Spritz which came in at €15 while my other half had a pint of lager at €12. The only issue we had, having walked further back along the beach was that all of the public toilets were closed.
Following on we got a taxi boat across the harbour over to Trouville which was €2.5 each. This saved us a further walk so was worth it. Trouville is probably my favourite resort of the two with beautiful buildings and a range of shops and restaurants all along the beach front and at significantly cheaper prices than the neighbouring Deauville. We ate in one of them, having our favourite Galletes and a glass of wine, which came in at approx. €35. Overall a very pleasant day and I would recommend this area to anyone visiting the beautiful region of Normandie.

Entry is free for this Casino though you will require ID. It is impressive inside and worth the visit. Minimum gamble on the slot machines is 5 euros.

I have lived near Deauville for many years.
First of all, it is important to point out that there are actually two racecourses at Deauville - Clairefontaine (the pretty one) and Le Touques (the prestigious one). The big races are at Le Touques. But both courses have a great atmosphere and great restaurants. Good activities for kids too.
Remember, this is France where 'Egalite' very much exists so there is very little differentiation between racegoers. Only the owners and trainers have their own bar/restaurant.
Also, this is the coast in August so the French are very much 'en vacances' and their dress demonstrates this - it smart casual and no-one does this quite like the Parisians although you might catch a glimpse of a Chanel jacket on an owner. If you dress as you would for Ascot or Aintree you will be very much out of place.

This villa is truly magnificient from the outside (we did not visit the inside, which requires advance reservations and is only possible infrequently).

Nice little place in a nice walking area with restaurants and shops around it.
There’s a small market which wasn’t open on our day of visit but we had a nice lunch there in Le Hibouville

Just past the train station it was our first stop to get orientated. Offered good suggestions on what to do and where to walk (plus gave us a map). Nice selection of souvenirs. All spoke perfect English

Came to the pool on Saturday afternoon and to my surprise it was not crowded at all. Spacious, light, clean space and pool. Very spacious changing rooms with shower cabins, etc. Vanity area is available (mirrors and hair dryers). Entry ticket is not expensive. Vending machine is available on place for those who forgot to bring their swim gear: swim caps, goggles, etc.
