Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- KayleeParis, France598 contributionsA peak into the dark side of French history. Well organized entry and you can expect to spend between 45 minutes to an hour here. A little expensive for the amount of time the visit takes.
Make sure to buy tickets in advance as it is always almost sold out.Written 4 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Most of the museum is in French but there is an audio tour in English which explains everything, however the style of presentation is rather annoying, two people having a conversation, a man and the young woman asking questions. This was completely unnecessary. Just describe what we are looking at and why it is important.Written 6 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CamilleLondon, UK2 contributionsWe had a great family treasure hunt in the Louvre yesterday. Hernan was so friendly and informative. My young grandchildren loved it (ages 6 and 8), a perfect way for them to get their first taste of a big museum. Thatmuse is a brilliant idea!Written 4 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- VelohubGodalming, UK1 contributionIf someone suggested getting on a motorbike & sidecar to tour Paris was a blast I wouldn't have believed them, but seriously the 'Great Escape' with Retro Tours was the highlight of our weekend and I would do it again at the drop of a hat. Peter, our host and tour-lead was exceptional - a real gentlemen and as a bona fide Parisian knew Paris like the back of his hand and was full of interesting facts and local knowledge. As non-motorcyclists we (as a family of four) loved every minute. We felt safe at all times and knew we were in good hands. Special thanks to Julien (owner) for extending his high-level of customer service and welcome hospitality. We will see you again!Written 24 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Emily A8 contributionsSo cool and somber. It’s unlike any experience you can have in the US. Just a heads up- the ceilings are maybe 6’2”, so if you’re tall, maybe uncomfy!Written 16 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JHOVLondon, Canada160 contributionsRented Lime scooters to travel to Montmartre. They were readily available using the app to locate and reasonably priced ( less than an Uber) to get you from A to B and SO MUCH FUN. You pay via the app get s QR code to unlock your scooter and off you go. When you are done simply step off, take a photo and carry on. Will definitely scooter in other cities.Written 30 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Britten WStowe, VT2 contributionsMy wife and I love walking around Paris, but with such a short visit we decided to rent a Vespa to see a bit more of the city. It was a great choice! Left Bank Scooters made it so easy as well. I booked online, then corresponded both via email and WhatsApp. They delivered the Vespa right on time to our hotel, and after a quick signature, we were off! It was such a great way to see so much more than the area around our hotel. Driving was easy as long as you paid attention. Parking was plentiful and easy overnight. We had the Vespa for two days and would definitely rent one for even longer next time.Written 16 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maria S1 contributionAlex K. was the most amazing guide. He is genuinely so funny and made us laugh every step of the way. On top of that, he knows so much about every place we pass. He always offered to take our pictures. It was a gorgeous trip with him, I 100% recommend for anyone wishing to explore France!Written 22 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very amusing hearing people get told off for being too close to the bones.Written 30 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - nhottelCockeysville, MD3 contributionsOur guide Victoire was a 5+ star guide!!!! She not only was extremely knowledgeable, but her passion for the history, the stories, the current state of the catacombs rubbed off on me and my niece! She was also patient with all of us taking photos, and in answering our questions. I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy the tour, but it turned out to be one of the highlights of our 2 week vacation in France. I highly recommend the tour. I rated 4 star because it was quite expensive.Written 6 June 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
