Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- tracks and trails86 contributionsWell worth a short metro trip. Grab some snacks/drinks in the shops when U get off the metro for when your at the top. - RosiSeattle, WA1,153 contributionsCute winding streets (with a few sets of steep stairs for extra exercise), independent shops and cafes, inevitable crowds in some parts of it, but so worth spending half a day here. You feel like you are miles and miles away from the occasional craziness of Paris.Written 27 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CathyS10 contributionsI visited during the Auguste Herbin exhibition which was simply excellent - a fantastic opportunity to discover the works of this unfairly neglected artist, I can’t recommend it enough. The permanent exhibition is also really good - the house and garden are beautiful and contain interesting exhibits on the history of Montmartre and many great paintings from the artists who worked there. There’s also a well-stocked bookshop and pretty cafe with tables in the garden.Written 6 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael FPhiladelphia, PA855 contributionsA great way to see a ton of Dali's sculptures in depth. They have more than just his sculptures of course, but they seem to be the central theme. While they did not offer an audio tour, all the pieces have descriptions by them for you to read. Certainly a must do for Dali lovers, however, I am not sure its a must do for anyone else.
You'll probably spent about 30-45 minutes with ease. Connected to the museum is a small gallery where you can purchase his work or work by other artists inspired by Dali. We went during a weekday and had no problem walking up and purchasing tickets, however, I believe they sell them in advance on-line and that might be worth doing to avoid issues.Written 6 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I love original art, and was bound and determined to find something to bring home. I would say at least half, if not more, of the artists are people that were painting/drawing portraits. But there were a dozen or more that did landscapes, still life's, and other types of paintings in a variety of mediums. I was fortunate, the artist I purchased two paintings from actually gave me a mailing tube to put my paintings in for transport back to the US. I had packed a mailing tube in my suitcase for that purpose, thinking I wouldn't get one from the artist. So I guess you never know! Definitely a highlight of our trip!Written 3 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- cw7181Sheffield, UK55 contributionsThe show is as you would expect. It’s excellent. The songs dancing and visuals are spectacular. I won’t spoil it. It’s worth going for that. However the area and the building are in a poor state. The exterior is falling apart. Interior is like it’s 1960s Vegas and never been updated. It needs renovating. Inside there is very little space. Rocked up at 8.30 out at 10.30. Worth it perhaps maybe. 8/10.Written 8 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HsteinmillerYorktown, VA817 contributionsI think I actually like this cemetery better than Père Lachaise - more intimate, fewer people, and a serene atmosphere. Plus of course I like the resident felines. A lovely place to contemplate life.Written 19 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Veronika H80 contributionsA cute little garden and a wall with the words “I love you” in different languages. This spot is very popular among couples, and I would say it’s a nice place for Instagram pictures. However, be ready that it can be really crowded.
I would advise to buy a croissant nearby and spend some time in this garden just relaxing or reading a book. It’s also close to Sacre Coeur, so you can visit these 2 places easily.Written 13 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Then it became a fashionable place to live. The provides some great perspectives of the city below. On top is the Sacre Coeur church. Be prepared: Following the "Amelie" movie, this area has been completely discovered and you will run into many tourists. Still it is a good place to wander.Written 8 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- I visited this place🇫🇷🇺🇸🇬🇷🇨🇭🇬🇧Israel34,998 contributionsYes- a nice place: the entrance to a different part of the city- Montmartre. It’s colorful, scenic, picturesque and unique, as is all of Paris.
It was nice to be here and to use the elevator at the metro station.
Correction- the word refers to nuns who spend their lives and devote their time to worship- that’s the real reason for the name of the area (hey- the Sacre Coeur church is the centerpiece and pinnacle of this elevated neighborhood).... it’s certainly not what I wrote in January 2019 from the previous visit.Written 16 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A larger than life talent, she was born in Egypt, lived in France, was a Beauty Queen, and a popular singer. Dramatic, she took her own life but her ‘drama’ is maintained in the Cemetery of Montmartre. See her rendition of ‘Besamé Mucho’ and you’ll understand!Written 22 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Neil KLiverpool, UK829,679 contributionsMy twin brother Stephen and I were enjoying beers sat outside a cafe bar on Place Du Tertre and as a lovely backdrop was the beautiful Eglise Saint Pierre De Montmartre .
Eglise Saint Pierre De Montmartre is the 2nd oldest church in Paris ,the oldest is Abbey De Saint Germain Des Pres ,Eglise Saint Pierre De Montmartre dates from 1133 and what we see today is all that remains of the church that was once part of an abbey complex ,the rest being destroyed during the French Revolution ,it's an evocative looking church ,so photogenic and very popular with tourists ,it's a church to most definitely check out if you're in this area of Montmartre and found along Rue Du Mont Cenis.Written 27 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Along the way there is some classic architecture and a few good cafes. Traffic here.Written 20 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul BMaylands, Australia365 contributionsDalida lived in what I think is the nicest area of Montmarte in this mansion of a place but tucked away in a quiet street.. She left her influence on France and Montmartre and is still worshipped in this part of the world.
