Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My visit to the Louvre was awe-inspiring, leaving me with a deep appreciation for art and history. It’s easy to spend an entire day there and still feel like there’s more to explore. Whether you’re in Paris for a few days or longer, the Louvre is a must-visit that will leave you with lasting memories. Book your tickets online in advance to avoid long lines, and wear comfortable shoes!

Outstanding performance in an awe-inspiring chapel

On the first day on our trip to Paris, we booked a concert at St. Chappelle.
Vivaldi’s Four Seasons played by a string quintet with harpsichord.
It was breathtaking. Musicianship was outstanding, warm and spiritual. Maestro was animated and engaging.
    And the chapel is everything.
    Highly recommend.

This was really cool. I had no idea that Monet had so many panels. They are so large and it's hard to comprehend how big they are until you get in the same room with them. I thought this was really cool but the benches were crowded constantly so there was really no place to sit and just really look because otherwise you felt like you had to move through fast because you were sitting in the way of the people who were sitting and looking. Otherwise, I thought it was great. I did think that the water lilies were going to be here so that was a bit disappointing but that was on me. Just being that close to a Monet was really cool.

For the love of God though, if you're going in the month of August or September, don't follow Google maps because we walked over 3 miles when it should've been a half a mile because of the construction.

Popped to the gardens to see the Olympic flame, but it seems to be ticketed unfortunately. Nice to see from a distance but the gardens themselves are a bit busy right now.

    PROS
    * Picturesque and beautiful island in the center of Paris
    * Quaint and charming- scenic
    * An amazing island with lots of attractions and activities
    * A great place to stroll and explore
    * Many restaurants and cafes and other food stuffs
    * Many scenic bridges cross the island

    CONS
    * It can be crowded, busy and confusing

    "I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... because it's a great place- the center of Paris. I loved walking onto and exploring the island. I walked pat the (closed) Cathedral of Notre Dame several times, visited the Memorial to the Deportation and its adjacent park and went inside Saint- Chapelle and the Conciergerie. I also crossed many of its bridges.

    WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
    Yes- it is free

WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
    For sure

    ADVICE
    You must go there

If we could live in this neighborhood, we would. The major feature is this market street with all sorts of fresh food to take back to your apartment, and all sorts of restaurants and cafes to sit in. It really comes alive at happy hour when the young folks jam the cool cafes and the activity continues. On either side of this market street you will find 18th Century Paris, lots of history, and lots of pedestrian streets.

Louis XIV played here as a child, and Colette lived in one of the apartments that look on to the gardens. They are lovely and beautifully maintained with several fountains and colonnaded buildings lining all sides. It has long been a playground, and is now very elegant.

Fun and quirky. Went here as an alternative to the art we saw at the Louvre the day before. Great fun and definitely worth a visit. If you have space to take some art home you can purchase some too.

One of the most important squares in Paris, not because of its beauty/architecture, but for its historic significance.

It's a must-visit on your way from Place de la Concorde to Grands Boulevards. That being said, the square itself isn't much more than its obelisk at the center. However, there are plenty of fancy high-end stores all around.

We had purchased the combo ticket covering both Saint Chapelle and Conciergerie. The tablet app that is handed as a guide is really cool. One gets to visualize how the place would have looked like back in the olden days.
Interesting anecdotes from history. Overall a nice place to visit and not too crowded either.

The height of the interior of this gothic cathedral is impressive. We sat for a while to admire it all. They have installed a light show here, so that is something to come back to. This has been the parish church for the market area.

Located on Île de la Cité is this small, square, that had plenty of seating to enjoy the surrounds, of this historic area with leafy foliage, just dont expect grass as there is none,

I discovered this place from instagram. I was curious about the black and white columns and I discovered all the rest of the garden. Very relaxing place in the center of the city
