Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Finally got to visit Shakespeare and Company ! Wonderful book store where famous writers gathered! Of course, bought books! Very historic and I loved being on the left bank of Paris near Notre Dame and thé Sienne. Recommend to everyone, especially, bookies!

Amazing place, like a natural history museum where you can buy the exhibits! It is beautiful just to visit. If you are interested in entomology, you have hit the motherlode. Many beautiful specimens to choose from. The staff are passionate about what they do and are very helpful. A must see in Paris!

Was nice. Found all that I needed. Expensive yes, to be expected. They should also think about selling organic seeds there as well. The apples were delicious

Mind boggling huge store! Come with a plan of what you want to buy. Could have spent hours absorbing the vast selections of any kind of gourmet food you can think of.

Grear Souvenir shop. It has mostly the same things all the shops have but it is locally owned and the couple are great. They were the only shop with USA flags since we were going to an Olympic event later in the day.

This is a wonderfully unique quirky place. The staff is friendly and put up with those of us who only speak English. Some go to Paris to get a Gucci bag my wife went to get the Copper skillet of her dreams. We walked 5 miles to get there it was worth it. You can find these items elsewhere but not in such a charming friendly environment

Always a great city to visit
However it’s feeling run down again now the Olympics are over
Still too many scammers and beggars at major landmarks and the Taxi drivers are still trying to rob you on each fare
We used uber as much as possible.

    Shopping always good

Ok, you'd think that _some_ of the cheeses that can be bought here can be bought elsewhere. You can get compte at Costco. Not the same stuff. Trust me. I don't know how this shop finds the cheeses that it does, but the four-or-five-who's-counting that we tried were some of the best examples of each type I've ever had. They age some of them at the store and make their own creations -- e.g. mixing in spices and ingredients into soft cheeses to make them unique. Prices are fair for the quality.

Having been to paris eleven times I wanted to camp out in the la mare district and do something unusual. I stopped buying trinkets a long time ago and now get a piece of jewelry on my adventures. So I came across this experience and booked it. Moana is the artist and you go to her studio flat where she warmly welcomes you and treats you to home made food and wine. I was lucky to have this experience all to myself . You create the earings then she makes them and ships them to you. There is a upcharge for the larger pieces that I happly paid. This truly is a one of a kind, authentic and a very cool experience. Thank you Moana!

This place has great atmosphere and many restaurants/shops. The whole district is quite nice. There are a few nice passageways in the area.

We stayed across the way and explored it. Super cute with lots of bistros and seating outside. Quiet and quaint contrary to the busy street three block away!

Sennelier is always on my mind to visit again. It is Professor David Chang who took his group of “study art abroad” students from Florida International University to Paris in 2012 where we encountered our special fist time visit at Sennelier Art Stire.

I was here with my newly-drinking age daughters on vacation. They wanted to learn about wine and try some as well. I don't drink a lot of wine so I'm not much help. We had the Paris passes and this tour was included. There's actually two options - guided tour and self-guided tour. You get numerous samples from a sommelier on the first tour as well as their expertise. On the second you get to walk through at your own pace, get three samples at the end and then receive a free bottle of wine to enjoy at home.

We did the second tour. It was quite fun. There are several educational activities and plenty of nice displays so we still learned quite a bit. The sommelier at the end was quite helpful in guiding us on which samples to try. The free wine was quite good - a house white.

They also offer shipping and I will say that my wine arrived safely back in the US in the timeframe described (several weeks) and very well packaged so there was little chance of breakage. I would definitely come back.

The shop was absolutely packed as was the tea salon. Luckily we did not have to wait long for a table. I tried to book beforehand but told they do not take bookings. We had the afternoon tea Noel with an extensive tea menu. Service and food was excellent. Shame the shop was so busy that it was impossible to browse the shop.

We initially went to the one that is still advertised as a tea room but when we got there it had been shut for a year. We were told by another Mariage Frere shop to go there.
