An easy walk around tour. Had to buy the book though as we were told the app no longer works!
Great that the museums are free as well.

The Musee des Beaux-Arts de Dijon has free admission, but just for the permanent collection. If there are special exhibits you will have to pay an entrance fee to see them. This is a moderately sized museum that you can tour within a few hours. Medieval art dominates the collection though it is balanced out by other time periods. Be sure to check in at the front desk as they want to check your bags and add which country you are visiting from into their database.

This square is according to me the most beautiful and the most magnificent place in Dijon. I kept coming back again and again during my day trip to the city and enjoyed very much the beauty of the surrounding buildings, the specious open area, fountains with playing kids, people relaxing in the cafes. It is just very impressive and it comes first to my mind when thinking about this trip.

Stunning setting and lovely courtyard - Some excellent exhibits. You appreciate the power of Dijon in this region from learning about the dukes.

This church is surrounded by other buildings and even the main entrance looks more like a house entrance than a church so its beauty and magnificence don´t stand out but it has some very interesting details on its facade, especially several lines of gargoyles are significant and unique. Interior is dark, quite simple and very solemn. At the facade on the backside you will find the famous Dijon owl.

A really lovely city although sad to see homeless people on the main road from the station to the centre of Dijon. However, once in the centre it is a very charming place with great historical places to visit and some nice restaurants around the city.

This is a little cathedral located a few steps from the old town. The place is not as crowded as the rest of the town which makes it much more enjoyable. The cathedral is quite simple yet interesting and impressive. There are some interesting unusual grave stones in the church and archaeological museum in the back.

On a rainy day in Dijon nothing better than to visit this very cute museum. A great collection of things from the past. The displays are artfully displayed. The only problem is nothing is written in English.

The guide was very knowledgeable and spoke several languages.

The stairs are wide and easy to climb up compared to other towers in Europe.

The view from the top was good for taking photo's of the beautiful tiles rooves within the town that are difficult to take from street level. We could see for miles around the centre.

If you go when it is snowing be careful of the slippery ice on the top of the tower when walking to get your photos.

Like a picture post card, beautiful views of endless vineyards, stopped by for picnic. There are benches every so often along the road.

Situated inside Les Halles-Dijon, there are a number of groceries, bakeries, cheese shop stalls, food stalls, etc. located here. Nice spot to get something to eat, or buy fresh groceries, seafood, wine, etc.. Easier to walk to on market days as some of the surrounding streets are closed to traffic, so walking is safer then. Worth a look.
