We were two couples staying in burgundy for a week. We were somewhat skeptical of doing this tour but so many people had recommended it that we took a chance. Great choice. It was an interesting and well put together tour (audio) that we all enjoyed.

We dropped in on our cycling tour around some of the villages in the region and had the fortune to meet the proprietor's son's girlfriend, who was absolutely lovely and told us a little bit about each of the wines we tried, in brilliant English (thank you for that!). In the end we purchased 3 bottles and would have loved to have taken more but Swiss customs limits were pressing.... Appreciated the advice on how long to keep the bottles in the cellar for and would highly recommend a stop here for anyone pushing through Pommard!

This is a gorgeous park, with a little lake, ducks, geese, pathways, lovely trees and many birds. They also have a pigeon house. There is a gate, which leads to vineyard paths. I walked here everyday on my visit.

Although the weather wasn't very nice on the day of our visit, we were still mesmerised by the ample collection displayed around the castle. Most of the exhibits are in relatively good condition despite how old they are. It's worth a visit and make sure you allocate a few hours to enjoy it the most.

Went on a day-long Burgundy wine tour. A wonderful, lovely winery committed to producing quality artisan wines, my personal favorite being the Pommard Rugiens Ier Cru 2005.

8 years ago we had an incredible experience at La cave de l’Ange Gardien and of course we shipped home a case wine. We’ve slowly been enjoying it over the years, and tonight opened our last bottle. We were told this was the “anti-divorce wine” and while we didn’t open this wine out of need, it seemed 2020 was a good time to pop the cork, remember better days of travel and clear a spot in the cellar. Hopefully we can return and pick up a new bottle to fill it’s spot one day soon. After nearly a decade we still remember the amazing experience we had with Pierre and Nicole. This wine brings us right back. Santé!

We visited in September 2021 and it was a highlight of our trip to Burgandy. My wife and I are not wine experts but we were enthusiastic about the opportunity to have wine tastings in the region. We called Henri de Villamont but they didn't have an opening at our preferred time that day. They called back for us to come at another time and we were able to arrange a late-in-the-day visit on a Friday afternoon. They kept a key part of the vineyard open for us to visit even though we arrived near their closing time. On top of that our guide was so nice and he was able to explain to us the different wines they had and how the wines are categorized. We don't speak French too well, so our guide provided all of the explanations in English and in a way that us wine novices could understand. We had a great time here and we look forward to visiting it again.

Very informative tour of ancient cellars, followed by a guided tasting of six wines. The young lady who conducted the tour was knowledgeable and professional

A premium winery bringing a bit of Napa flair and pizzaz to the storied heart of Burgundy. Owned by an American (Silicon Valley billionaire big data exec.) their wines are premium priced for France and even by Napa standards. Currently their wines are NOT imported to USA and can only be enjoyed in a handful of Parisian restaurants or at the winery.

We stopped in as an excursion during our fantastic barge river cruise in burgundy in late July on a perfect summer day. We had a quick look in the historic cellar beneath the winery before commencing on our tasting. In all we tried about 6 wines beginning with two different Chardonnay then moving on to some beautiful and delicious Pinot noirs. Prices here are WELL above average with Pinots in the 100€ range.

Large collection, both indoors and outdoors on the property. Lots of history here and well worth a stop, especially if you're looking for something different to break up the wine route. If you do both the chateau and the museum, would allow a couple of hours so as not to be rushed. The day we were there it was not overcrowded with tourists, so was much more peaceful than some of the other touristy things in the Beaune area. The grounds are nice but not overdone.

    Great Facility for Crémant

Veuve Ambal is a very modern production facility for Crémant, the French sparkling wine made outside of Champagne. On the outskirts of Beaune, this is a wonderful and informative tour, with a self-guided tour of the factory and a nice audio to explain the history of the family and what you’re seeing. And after the tour you get to sample the Crémant which is half the fun.

Despite its relatively modest size, the Cathedral Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-Beaune is one of the last great Romanesque churches in Burgundy. It was completed in the XII century. However, the cathedral could not maintain stylistic unity. Changing the windows after the fire, they were replaced with Gothic ones. The flying buttresses who also hails from Gothic. The famous Viollet-le-Duc had a hand in the cathedral, drawing up a plan for its restoration. The creator of Carcassonne and Pierrefonds was able to give a medieval appearance lost by the XIX century, or add if it was not originally there. However, it was not he, but his son-in-law Maurice Ouradou who carried out the restoration along with the Hotel Dieu.
