What travellers are saying
- BaddoBPlymouth, UK49 contributionsWent up. Looked about. Came down again. Great time if you're stuck for things to do around Fort William, especially if you like climbing mountains or for a short period being able to say "I'm higher up than everyone else in the country".
The walk to the Red Burn was pretty easy, so even if you don't want to go the whole hog it's still a lovely walk to the Halfway Loch and Red Burn, with great views across the Nevis Valley to the mountains beyond.Written 27 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The car park is free which is a bonus, and the majority of the walk is easy to navigate although there are some parts of the path that may be challenging to some.
The walk isn’t long are too arduous so it’s suitable for a lot of people. If you want to visit the waterfall up close you’ve got to cross the rope bridge which is harder than it looks but also a lot of fun. We did it and it was easier on the way back.Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It’s a free museum and there’s so much to see and read about it’s fantastic. I highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area.Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We did some sledging, walked a trail from the top and used the cafe. We had a brilliant morning and really loved the experience!Written 14 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Katie PUnited Kingdom82 contributionsCame on a groggy, wet day. On a nicer day I’m sure you would be able to see Ben Nevis.
No Information boards on the lochs.
Nice stop with free large car park.Written 7 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Garry WArdrishaig, UK255 contributionsThe views are spectacular round every corner.
It is so photogenic that you could stop every few yards for photographs.Glenfinnan monument view is out of this world, along with the famous viaduct. Time your viaduct view for when the steam train passes.
The white sands of Morar are also a must.
I could continue for hours. Is is definitely a must see. If your going this time of year wrap up as its freezing. I was driving so couldn't do any tasting at the end but they have little bottles for you to take away with you so you can taste them later. We'll worth the money.Written 15 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Liz ABradford, UK719 contributionsWe went as part of a Lochs and Glens tour. We didn't spend too much time there but it was interesting and well laid out. The staff there are very friendly.Written 13 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Ray WAberdeen, UK58 contributionsThe shopping in Fort William was great for us. The Lochaber Larder butcher shop and the Iain Stewart Fish shop were excellent and we were able to stock up for our cottage stay. Since it had been nearly 60 years since we had been there it was great to reminisce.Written 9 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jason SMelbourne, Australia1,693 contributionsSmall church located not far from Main Street, from the outside looks like a nice small city church to enter, inside a nice surprise well designed and maintained with lovely stained glass windows to see.
Outside in front of church small cemetery that also good to see.Written 5 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
